Meat pigeons produce more meat, grow fast, have good meat quality, have strong disease resistance and are precocious. Meat pigeon has a broad sales market at home and abroad. However, the natural breeding cycle of meat pigeons is long, the production speed is slow, and the supply falls short of demand. The new technology of "four synchronization" can be used to breed meat pigeons with high efficiency.

Meat pigeon

First, synchronous pairing. Male and female meat pigeons of appropriate age are concentrated, paired at the same time, put in the same pigeon house, and fed uniformly. It can not only save the time of the breeders, but also strengthen the feeding management.

Second, laying eggs simultaneously. After the pigeons are paired, they begin to lay eggs in about 8 days. Because the meat pigeons are paired at the same time, the phenomenon of laying eggs at the same time will inevitably occur.

Third, hatching synchronously. The pigeon eggs laid in the same period are numbered and incubated in an ordinary electric incubator with a temperature of about 38 ℃ and a relative humidity of about 61%. The regular ventilation of the incubator should be done well. The pigeon eggs placed in the egg plate face up bluntly and turn the eggs 5-6 times a day. When hatching for 4-5 days, the first flash eggs are carried out, and the weak sperm eggs whose development is suspended are removed. After hatching for 17-18 days, the suckling pigeons break their shells.

Fourth, synchronous feeding. Put the hatched squab into the nursery and feed it artificially. The nestling room should be cleaned and disinfected, and a nestling rack should be arranged, on which the nestling plate should be laid with 2-3cm thick rice chaff or wheat straw, and two squab should be reared in each plate. Adjust the feed formula and feeding quantity of squab according to the age of meat pigeons. 1-5-day-old meat pigeon diet is: 40% Mel 50% skim milk powder, 55% Mel 60% chicken feed, plus edible minerals, vitamin additives, antibiotics, mix evenly, add 5 times water, adjust to milk shape, feed temperature about 35 ℃, and then use the feeder to inject into the crop of meat pigeon, 4-5 times a day, feed 5-7 ml daily, and increase day by day after 2 days of age. At the age of 6-9 days, the diet composition of meat pigeons can be changed to 25% skim milk powder and 75% chicken feed, and other additives can be added in proportion. After mixing well, add 6 times water, and adjust it to milk paste. Since the 10th day of age, the skim milk powder in the diet composition of meat pigeons has been reduced to 3%, 5%, and fed three times a day. The temperature in the rearing room was 35 ℃ at 1 day old, and then decreased by 0.5 ℃ per day until it dropped to 25 ℃. Under normal circumstances, this feeding method, after about 18 to 21 days of feeding, meat pigeons can be put on the market.
