Last Updated: 2024/11/05, The activities of alanine ammonia lyase, polyphenol oxidase and peroxidase and the contents of protein, proline and phenols in tea leaves infected with tea cake pathogen were studied. The results showed that in diseased leaves, the activity of phenylalanine ammonia lyase decreased, while the activity of peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase increased. The analysis of peroxidase isozymes with benzidine as matrix by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis showed that there were four isozymes in healthy tea leaves.

The activities of alanine ammonia lyase, polyphenol oxidase and peroxidase and the contents of protein, proline and phenols in tea leaves infected with tea cake pathogen were studied. The results showed that in diseased leaves, the activity of phenylalanine ammonia lyase decreased, while the activity of peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase increased. The analysis of peroxidase isozymes with benzidine as matrix by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis showed that there were 4 isozymes in healthy tea leaves and 5 isozymes in diseased leaves. The content of proline in diseased leaves increased significantly, but decreased in the early stage of infection. SDS-PAGE analysis showed that leaves would lose a certain amount of protein when they were infected. Compared with healthy leaves, the total phenolic compounds in diseased leaves increased significantly. According to Agar cup analysis, phenolic compounds showed antifungal activity in both healthy and diseased leaves. The antifungal activity of healthy leaves is higher. HPLC analysis of catechin compounds extracted from healthy leaves and diseased leaves showed that there were qualitative and quantitative differences between the two leaves.
