It is a digestive tract infectious disease of young rabbits characterized by severe diarrhea caused by rotavirus. it occurs frequently at the age of 2 to 6 weeks, especially at the age of 4 to 6 weeks, and most adult rabbits show recessive infection.

The incubation period of symptoms was 1-3 days, elevated body temperature, lethargy, severe diarrhea, semi-fluid or watery loose stool, brown, grayish white or light green with mucus or blood, dehydration and emaciation, and died in 2-4 days.

The diseased large and small intestinal mucosa had diffuse bleeding, the intestinal mucosa was easy to fall off, and the contents were thin, grayish yellow or grayish black.

The prevention and treatment of diseased rabbits should be isolated immediately, nursing should be strengthened, and the feces of diseased rabbits should be removed in time. There is no specific drug for the treatment, convergent antidiarrheal agents (such as tannic acid protein) can be used symptomatically, and antibiotics can be used to prevent secondary bacterial infection. The prevention of the disease mainly depends on feeding and management, enhance the resistance of female rabbits and young rabbits, and adhere to daily disinfection to kill the virus.
