In terms of feed supply, 150-300 grams of meat and the same amount of cooked dry material should be fed according to the size of the dog every day. Feed at a specified time and place, and eat within 15-25 minutes without delay in order to develop good living habits. Feed must be clean and fresh. Dishes such as pots should be washed frequently and clean drinking water should be provided.

Because of its special shape, long body and short legs, the dachshund is easy to get fat, which causes diseases of various organs, so it must have a certain amount of activity. It should be allowed to walk and run indoors every day. If you are stained with mud and dust during the activity, wipe it off with a towel and damp cloth to keep the coat clean and supple.

For long-haired dachshund dogs, more attention should be paid to brushing work. First of all, comb the hair under the ear with a brush to make the hair more soft and beautiful. Then comb the front and lower parts of the front toe, as well as the trim of the back edge. Finally, starting from the shoulder, comb to the bottom of the body from top to bottom, and the hair below the joints of the hindlimb can also be properly combed so that it does not stick. The hair between the fingers and toes can be properly trimmed so that it is not cumbersome to walk. The tail hair should be combed down from the root of the tail to the tip of the tail to remove dirt from the hair.

For rough-haired dachshund dogs, you should also comb their coarse hair, and don't ignore it because of its thick and short hair, otherwise it will also accumulate dirt lice. In addition to grooming work, often use 2% boric acid water to wash eye wax (skimmed cotton), earwax and tooth wax, and regularly trim claw nails.

At ordinary times, it should be trained not to bark and to develop the good habit of not biting the coat and defecating at a fixed point.
