Garlic cultivation system and cultivation season
Autumn sowing garlic is better with rice, corn, sorghum, @ # @ 245 vegetables, beans, melons, tomatoes and potatoes, while spring sowing garlic is better with autumn beans, pumpkins, eggplant vegetables, cotton, beans and so on. During the growth of garlic, a large amount of fertilizer is applied, and the roots of garlic can secrete substances with certain bactericidal effects, so it is also an ideal predecessor for other vegetables. At the same time, it can also be intercropped with corn, cotton, medicinal herbs and all kinds of vegetables. In the northeast and northwest, garlic is mainly planted alone, and it is customary to interplant with other vegetables and food crops in North China. Cotton producing areas in Hebei Province interplant garlic between cotton rows; many suburban communities interplant broad beans and dwarf peas on garlic ridges. Garlic and green garlic are planted in the pumpkin Weir, and garlic is interplanted or intercropped with other vegetables.
The determination of garlic cultivation season mainly depends on the overall requirements and varieties of external environmental conditions in different growth and development periods of garlic, as well as the climatic conditions of different regions. Garlic can germinate at a low temperature of 3 ℃ and 5 ℃, and germinate rapidly when the temperature is above 12 ℃. The optimum temperature for seedling growth is 12 ℃, and the optimum temperature for bulb formation is 15 ℃. Over 26 ℃, the root system withered, the leaves withered, the pseudostem softened and lodged, and entered the dormancy stage.
The sowing time of garlic varies according to region and variety, which can be divided into autumn sowing and spring sowing. With 35-38 ℃ north latitude as the dividing line between spring sowing and autumn sowing, the winter is not too cold in the south of 35 ℃. Garlic seedlings can survive the winter in the open field naturally, mainly in autumn, and be harvested in early summer next year. In the area north of 38 ℃ north latitude, the seedlings can not survive the winter safely in winter, and autumn sowing is easy to suffer frost injury, so it is suitable to sow in early spring and harvest in the middle or late summer. It can be sown in spring or autumn in the area between 35-38 ℃ north latitude. Although the specific sowing time varies greatly from place to place, the daily average temperature is generally between 3-6 ℃ in spring sowing and about 20-22 ℃ in autumn sowing. The growth period of spring sowing garlic, especially the seedling growth period, is significantly shorter than that of autumn sowing garlic, so it should be sowed as early as possible to meet the requirements of low temperature during vernalization and make garlic bolting and split. If spring sowing is too late, it is bound to affect the formation of products and reduce output.

Two common problems in garlic cultivation
In recent years, there are many problems caused by continuous cropping, poor management and unscientific fertilization in Jinxiang, Juye, Cangshan, Zhongmou and Kaifeng, the main producing areas of garlic. It can be summarized in nine words: "yellow leaves, dry tips, dead seedlings, low yield". The author now introduces the causes of the two headache problems in garlic cultivation in recent years to the majority of agrotechnical extension workers and garlic growers. Problem 1: garlic looked normal years ago, with a few dry tips of yellow leaves, but after turning green, the garlic seedlings were seriously yellowed.
