Bacterial fertilizer for garlic shows remarkable effect in seedling stage.
Jinxiang County, Shandong Province is a well-known "hometown of garlic". In Jinxiang, the perennial planting area of garlic is more than 33000 hectares, ranking first among counties (cities) in the country, and is known as the "garlic capital of China". Due to the superior local natural conditions, the average yield of garlic reaches more than 1200kg per 667m2, with the highest reaching 3000kg. Jinxiang garlic accounts for 70% of the country's total garlic exports, and there is a saying that "the world garlic looks at China, and Chinese garlic looks at Jinxiang." The people of Jinxiang also got rid of poverty and lived a rich life by growing garlic.
With the improvement of garlic planting level and the increase of garlic yield, it is common for garlic farmers to apply chemical fertilizer blindly, no or less organic fertilizer, resulting in the decline and consolidation of soil fertility. Garlic planting has also increased soil-borne diseases and insect pests year by year. It not only increases the planting cost of garlic farmers year by year, but also affects the planting income of garlic farmers.
The experiment on the application of "Baihuashan" brand organic fertilizer containing biological bacterial fertilizer in garlic showed that the emergence period of garlic was prolonged in 2006 because of early sowing and high air temperature. as a result, the seedlings of garlic were weak, the roots were underdeveloped, the root plates rotted, the roots were yellow, the new roots were few, and the leaves of 2 leaves above ground were rotting and yellowing. On the other hand, the seedling condition of the plot using multi-resistant bio-organic fertilizer was strong, prosperous, well-developed root system and less disease, which was significantly different from that of the control. The experiment will continue to make a detailed investigation on each growing period of garlic, sum up experience, and promote garlic in Jinxiang to plant every year and harvest after stubble.

Control of garlic fly maggots with 48% Lesbon
Yuan Yong, a reader from Group 2 of Jixing Village, Tongshang Town, Dafeng City, Jiangsu Province, wrote that maggots occurred in the local garlic field in 2005, and 6 and 8 maggots could be seen from the roots of a plant of garlic, resulting in almost no harvest in some fields, and many garlic farmers were anxious. I hope we can ask experts to give a solution. For this problem, we consulted the relevant experts of the Plant Protection Station of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Jiangsu Province. Experts say onion flies, also known as onion maggots and garlic maggots, belong to the family Muscidae of Diptera and are common pests on green onions. If it is light, the output will be reduced by 10% to 20%, and the heavy one will be reduced by more than 30%.
