(1) Variety source: this variety is a medium indica early maturing combination prepared by Rice Sorghum Research Institute of Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences using self-bred male sterile line K17 and restorer line HRl95.

(2) characteristics: the whole growth period is about 140 days, which is equivalent to Shanyou 64 and 2-3 days longer than Shanyou 8. The plant height is 110 cm, the ear length is 22-23 cm, the ear is flat with about 130 grains, the seed setting rate is 80-85%, and the 1000-grain weight is 29-30 grams. The tillering ability is middle to upper, the plant type is compact, the leaf is long and erect, the leaf color is light green, the cold resistance is strong, the resistance to rice blast is stronger than the control, and the appearance and eating quality are above.

(3) yield performance: in the Guangyuan urban trial from 1995 to 1996, the yield per mu was 499.73% and 559.9 kg respectively, which was 15.4% and 11.7% higher than that of Shanjing 8, respectively, and 13.6% higher than that of Shanzheng 8 in two years. From 1996 to 1997, he participated in the Luzhou regional test, and the yield per mu was 480.4 kg and 527.0 kg respectively, an increase of 10.23% and 9.0% respectively over the control Shanzheng 8, and an average increase of 9.62% over the control Shanjing 8 in two years. In the Luzhou production test in 1996, the average mu yield was 567.12 kg, 11.2% higher than that of the control Shanzheng 8, and the average mu yield in Guangyuan production test was 522.5 kg, 7.7% higher than that of the control.

(4) cultivation key points: planting about 20,000 holes per mu, with 2-3 plants per hole, pay attention to heavy bottom and early topdressing in fertilization management.

(5) suitable planting areas: suitable for planting medium rice in mountainous areas above 800 meters above sea level in Sichuan, Shaanxi, Guizhou and other provinces, or early-maturing middle rice in Pingba area of western Sichuan, and planting late autumn crops after harvest.
