White mildew of turtles, also known as water mildew, mycosis and fungal dermatitis, is caused by a large number of fungi infecting the skin of turtles.

1. Symptoms. At the initial stage of the disease, gray-white disease spots appeared one after another in the tortoise's dorsal nail, abdominal nail, neck and limbs, followed by a large number of gray-white flocculent mycelia. Hyperemia and ulceration occur in the wound, and in severe cases, the mycelium is thick and dense, and the disease-causing turtles are slow to respond, slow to move, loss of appetite, weight loss, and finally die of exhaustion, especially the small turtles.

two。 Prevention. For white mildew should be prevention-based, focus on the following points: ① in the purchase, capture or handling process should be careful operation, handle gently, to avoid turtle injury. ② turtle breeding ponds should have appropriate sunshine, while indoor turtles should be moved outdoors regularly to bask in the sun, or ultraviolet rays should be used to irradiate the turtles to inhibit mold growth. Adding 1% vitamin E to ③ diet can effectively prevent the occurrence of turtle white mildew. ④ sprinkled 100~150mg/kg fresh lime solution evenly throughout the pool to eliminate mold spores in the water. ⑤ found that turtles with trauma can use 1% potassium permanganate solution to smear the wound, rest in a dry place for 2 hours and then enter the water once or twice a day; smear the wound with 1% furazolidone solution, or soak the turtle body with 20~30mg/kg furazolidone solution for 20 minutes, twice a day; sprinkle the whole pool evenly with 1.5mg/kg furazolidone solution, which can not only treat trauma but also eliminate mold spores in water.

3. Treatment. ① sterilized the turtles in a mixture of 1% salt and 0.04% soda for 20 minutes, once a day. ② concentrated the sick turtles in a small pool and sprinkled the whole pool with a mixture of 0.05% sodium bicarbonate and 9.05% salt. ③ soaked the diseased turtles in 3%-5% salt water for 5 minutes, twice a day. ④ smeared the affected area with 5% salt water. Wait for the affected area to dry before entering the pool. Use it for 3 or 4 times in a row.
