Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Russian fish culture experts have recently found that chitosan, a biopolymer extracted from the crustaceans of marine crustaceans, can be used as a fish feed additive to make fish feed more suitable for handling, and fish will become fatter if they eat feed containing chitosan. General fish feed is processed into loose particles, but it is easy to break up due to friction or extrusion in the process of transportation, and it is quickly expanded and split due to soaking in the water, resulting in waste. Therefore, when processing fish feed, it is necessary to add feed adhesion components to increase.

General fish feed is processed into loose particles, but it is easy to break up due to friction or extrusion in the process of transportation, and it is quickly expanded and split due to soaking in the water, resulting in waste. Therefore, in the processing of fish feed, it is necessary to add feed adhesion components to enhance the anti-friction and water resistance of feed particles. Experts from the all-Russian Freshwater Fish Culture Scientific Research Center focused their research on chitosan. Chitosan is a kind of high molecular polysaccharide biopolymer extracted from the crustacean of marine crustaceans. it is a natural animal edible cellulose, which can be dissolved in dilute acid and human body fluids, absorbed and utilized by the body, and has no toxic side effects. The dissolved chitosan is in a gel state and has strong adhesion. According to the Russian "Scientific Information" magazine, researchers have found that after adding chitosan to fish feed, the feed particles will become very strong, which can effectively prevent fragmentation due to transportation. They made a special mixture of chitosan, methionine, glutamic acid and oil cake and stirred evenly in the feed. The experiment found that the fish fed with this feed grew faster and fatter, which effectively increased the yield of fish and saved feed. Experts' analysis of fish blood, biochemical composition of fish meat and fish liver showed that when fish ate feed containing chitosan additives, the nutrients in meat increased greatly, but the toxic substances in the body decreased greatly. The researchers explained that chitosan is an effective antitoxin.
