Initial management measures after tea planting
The ability of direct seeding or transplanting tea seedlings to resist natural disasters is weak, so it is necessary to cultivate and manage them carefully in order to ensure the robust growth of tea seedlings, especially in the first and second years. At the same time, the growth of tea plant is continuous for quite a number of years, such as extensive management in the early stage, poor seedling growth or low survival rate, serious lack of trees, which will inevitably affect the later growth, resulting in low yield per unit area. therefore. The focus of the initial management is to carefully protect the seedlings and ensure the whole seedlings and strong seedlings. The tasks of the first year can be summarized as follows: drought resistance, anti-freezing, weeding and fertilization, and filling gaps in seedlings.
In addition, direct broadcast tea gardens are often exposed due to soil erosion. Or because the sowing is too deep, the seedlings can not be unearthed; some transplanted tea gardens die due to poor transplanting techniques, or the roots are exposed to drought due to soil erosion; or the lack of plants and holes in young tea gardens caused by drought, freezing and diseases and insect pests will seriously affect the yield per mu of tea gardens in the future, and it is necessary to make up for the gaps in time, which is also an important measure for young tea gardens to strive for the whole seedling and ensure the density of tea bushes per unit area. To catch up early, it is generally appropriate to replant annual tea seedlings in autumn, winter or spring of the following year. In replanting, tea seedlings of the same age and variety should be used to fill the gap, so that the growth of tea seedlings should not be filled by direct seeding as far as possible. in order to supply seedlings in time to fill the gap, a nursery garden should be established when the garden is built.
In the direct seeding tea garden, due to the mixing of tea seeds or too many seeds per hole, there are different varieties and poor growth of tea seedlings. In order to cultivate high-yield and high-quality tea plantations, it is necessary to keep good and inferior seedlings, and leave 2-3 good seedlings per hole.

Total developmental cycle of tea plant
The whole life period of tea tree is from seed germination to senescence and death. According to the growth and development characteristics of tea plant, it can be divided into four biological age periods, namely: seedling stage, juvenile stage, adult stage and aging period. Seedling stage: from seed germination, seedling unearthed to the formation of standing bud at the end of the first growth, it is the seedling stage. Generally speaking, the seeds began to germinate in March of that year and lasted for about 4-5 months until July. Attention should be paid to keeping the soil loose and moist during the seedling stage, so that enough air can be obtained for seed germination.
