Last Updated: 2024/12/22, Since January 11, the rainy and snowy weather in Hubei province has lasted for more than half a month and has evolved into a "snow disaster". The seriousness of this disaster lies in the overlap and long duration of low temperature and rain and snow, which has a great impact on agriculture in Hubei Province, and tea is no exception. From the investigation and understanding of various tea areas, most tea gardens in our province have varying degrees of frost injury, which will be more serious if effective measures are not taken, and the impact on the production of spring tea in the province this year is almost a foregone conclusion, and the opening of spring tea garden is at least 10-15 days later than in previous years. In this paper, the anti-freezing and remedial measures of tea trees are mentioned.

Since January 11, the rainy and snowy weather in Hubei province has lasted for more than half a month and has evolved into a "snow disaster". The following suggestions are made on the anti-freezing and remedial measures of tea trees.

I. Anti-freezing measures

1. Cover with straw. After driving the snow away, cover the straw in the hips, the hips, the hot pepper, the green pepper, the greedy yam, the snows, the snows, the snow, the snow, the snow and the straw.

2. Cover the film. Where there are conditions, it is best to take the method of covering the film to wrap all the tea trees, which is conducive to windproof, frost and anti-freezing, and it will be better for the seedlings to take this method.

3. Smoke. With the help of smoke screen, we can prevent the soil and tea tree surface from losing a lot of heat during the period of snow and frost, playing the role of "Greenhouse Effect". This method is suitable for mountain dock and low-lying tea gardens to prevent frost and frost.

II. Remedial measures

After the tea tree suffers from freezing injury, positive measures can be taken to remedy it so that the economic loss of freezing injury can be reduced to the minimum. During the recovery period of frost injury, it was selected from the end of February to the middle of March according to different elevations and latitudes, and pay attention to the attack of "late spring cold".

1. Pruning. Tea trees are treated according to the degree of damage: those who are lightly frozen should strictly control the light pruning of "rather deep than shallow"; those who are heavily frozen should be heavily pruned or cut off in time, so as to promote new germination. The old tea trees that have been cut at the table have many branches and should also be thinned.

2. Shallow ploughing and fertilization. After thawing, shallow ploughing and weeding in early spring plays an important role in improving the ground temperature. Combined with the application of available nitrogen fertilizer, tea trees can quickly return to vitality and promote tea bud germination and new growth. Some mineral phosphorus and potash fertilizers can also be applied to enhance the growth ability of branches and promote the yield of spring and summer tea. If the ice soil layer is deep and the absorption root of the topsoil freezes to death, and the effect of root fertilization is not good before the new root is sent out, 1% urea can be used for extra-root topdressing.

3. Cultivate the crown. The mining time of frozen tea tree spring tea is generally delayed. Therefore, leaves picking must be carried out to restore the tree potential and strive to increase the yield of summer tea. Those who are heavily frozen, after pruning and pruning or table cutting, focus on cultivating the crown in that year, not picking, late picking or light picking. In the coming year, we will still give priority to canopy cultivation, combine picking and cultivation, continue to cultivate high-yield trees, and then put into normal picking after the tree is restored. As for the "hemp head" frostbitten by the late frost, it should be collected in time, so as not to consume too much nutrients and hinder the new germination.

In a word, the prevention and remedy of freezing injury of tea trees complement each other and should cooperate closely and give priority to prevention in order to achieve good results.
