Last Updated: 2024/11/03, Lily is a specialty of our country. Because of its high ornamental and edible value, lily has a large sales volume in the international flower market. Therefore, it is worth advocating vigorous reproduction. There are four methods for the propagation of lily, such as sowing, bulblet division, scale cutting and split bud, one of which can be chosen according to the need. (1) breeding by sowing. The sowing method belongs to sexual reproduction and is mainly used in breeding. The method is to harvest seeds in autumn and store them for sowing in the following spring. It sprouted about a day after sowing. The sun should be shaded properly in the seedling stage. At the beginning of autumn, small bulbs have been formed in the underground part, which can be dug up and planted.

Lily is a specialty of our country. Because of its high ornamental and edible value, lily has a large quantity in the international flower market.

Due to different species, some seedlings can blossom in 3 years, while others need to be cultivated for many years to blossom. Therefore, this method is not suitable for families.

(2) the method of dividing small bulbs. If you need to propagate plants or several plants, you can use this method. There are usually some small bulbs on the periphery of the stem disk of the old bulb. When lilies are harvested from September to October, these bulbs can be separated and stored in indoor sand to survive the winter. It was planted in pot in the spring of the following year. From September to October in the third year, it can grow into large bulbs and grow into large plants. The reproduction quantity of this method is small, and it is only suitable for family pot propagation.

(3) scale cutting method. This method can be used for medium number of reproduction. In autumn, the bulbs were dug up and the fleshy and fleshy scales on the old bulbs were broken off one by one. There should be a small part of the stem disk at the base of each scale, which should be slightly shaded, and then cut into the flowerpot or shallow wooden box containing river sand (or vermiculite). Let the scale's 2x3 be inserted into the substrate to maintain a certain humidity. Under the condition of ℃ or so, the scale wound will take root for about one and a half months. The winter temperature should be kept at about 18 ℃, and the scale wound would take root. The temperature in winter should keep the river sand from getting too wet. Cultured to the following spring, small bulbs can grow at the base of the scales, separate them and plant them in a pot. After careful management, it can blossom in about a few years.

(4) the method of dividing bead buds. The method of bead bud propagation is only suitable for a few species. Such as curly Dan, yellow iron cannon and other lilies, use this method more. The practice is to remove and cultivate the bulbs (also known as "bulbs") formed in the axils of stems and leaves above ground, when the bulbs have fully grown in summer, but have not yet fallen off. It usually takes 2-4 years from growing into a large bulb to flowering.

In order to promote multiple small bulbs for reproduction, after flowering, the aboveground stems can be pressed and buried shallowly in the soil, or the aboveground stems can be divided into 3-4 leaves per segment and buried shallowly in the soil, or the aboveground stems can be divided into small segments with each section, and small beads can grow in the axils of leaves when the stem nodes are shallowly buried in wet sand.
