The "pilot Action on Scientific and technological Promotion of Comprehensive Rice production capacity" is a planned task implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture at a meeting held in Hangzhou in March this year. The pilot project stipulates that new varieties of high-quality and high-yield hybrid rice will be selected, with a radiation extension area of 250000 mu, and the yield index will be 5% higher than that of the control in the same area. it is also required to select a core demonstration area of 1000 mu. Through technical integration, the yield index will increase by about 10% compared with the control in the same area.

The Anhui project area is presided over by the China Rice Research Institute and undertaken by the Anhui Provincial Committee of Agriculture, the Rice Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Tianchang City, Anhui Province. The improved rice variety "Fengliangyou 1" selected in the core demonstration area of the project was bred by Fengle seed Industry and Liaoning Japonica Hybrid Center. The project implements the system of chief expert responsibility and trains 235 technical backbones. In Tianchang City, where the project was implemented, three service networks and seven training groups were set up to carry out five phases of scientific and technological training to 28 townships in the city, training a total of 11000 farmers, totaling 55000 people, and distributing more than 11000 copies of materials.

On the basis of selecting improved varieties with high quality and high yield, a series of supporting techniques such as "dry cultivation and sparse planting" and "sparse growth" for high yield and pollution-free cultivation of rice have been popularized, and the coverage rate of improved varieties and technology in the demonstration area have reached 100%. It has contributed to the high quality and high yield of rice in a large area.

According to the local agricultural technology department, the yield of 28 townships in the 250000 mu radiation demonstration area of the city was measured, equivalent to an average yield of 613.8 kg per mu, an average increase of 6.1% over the same variety in the non-project area.

The expert group agreed that the project was well organized and standardized, fully completed the contract tasks on schedule, and agreed to pass the acceptance. It is suggested that the popularization and application of the results of the project should be further accelerated.
