In the green feed, coarse feed and concentrate feed for pigs, the green feed contains more water, large volume, easy digestion, good palatability, and contains a variety of vitamins, minerals and proteins; the coarse feed has large volume, high crude fiber content and reasonable compound. it can increase the contact surface between feed and digestive juice, and has a laxative effect, so it is easy to make pigs feel full, but it is difficult to digest. Concentrate is characterized by small size, high nutritional value and easy digestion, but it is lack of minerals and vitamins. Two important notes

First, it should be diversified and reasonable to ensure comprehensive nutrition.

Second, we should pay attention to the relationship between dietary volume and pig feed intake. The measurement of feed volume can be calculated by feed dry matter content. According to the daily dry matter requirement of pigs per 100kg body weight, the dry matter of green feed, coarse feed and concentrate feed needs 5 ∶ 3 ∶ 2. If a pregnant sow weighing 150 kg needs 5 kg of feed dry matter per day, 2.5 kg of dry matter comes from green feed (6 kg of green feed can get 1 kg of dry matter), 1.5 kg of dry matter comes from roughage and 1 kg of dry matter comes from concentrate.

Third, the formula feed should be palatable and easy to digest. In formula feed, if it contains high energy and protein and less crude fiber, it will be palatable and easy to digest; on the contrary, if it contains low energy and protein and more crude fiber, it will be poor and difficult to digest. When mixed with pig feed, it is advisable to use more green fodder and less roughage, and the mixed roughage requires good quality.

Fourth, different types of diets should be selected according to different pig herds. Generally speaking, piglets, breeding boars and fattening pigs can choose concentrate type, that is, concentrate can account for more than 50% of the total dietary weight; breeding sows and reserve sows can choose green feed type, that is, green feed can account for more than 50% of the total dietary weight; shelf pigs can choose bran type, that is, bran feed can account for more than 50% of the total dietary weight.
