Gastrodia elata is rotten when it is ripe. What's the matter?
Li Zongguo, a farmer from Jinluanshan Village, Jiahe Town, Yunxi County, wrote to ask: I began to learn to grow Gastrodia elata last year. According to relevant introductions, I planted 50 to 60 square meters indoors, and last year's harvest was good. This year I began to expand the planting, or to follow the method of last year. In September this year, I started digging and sold it on the market for only three days. Then I dug again, only to find that all the Gastrodia elata was rotten. How is this going on? Zhang Qiudong, Department of Disease and Pest Control of Provincial Plant Control Station, answered: most of the causes are due to bad environment, such as high temperature, high humidity, poor ventilation and so on.
