Last Updated: 2024/11/22, The life span of lily seeds is very short, it will lose its germination ability after half a year storage, and sowing seedlings need to be cultivated for many years to blossom. After sowing, lilies need to be cultivated for several years before commercial bulbs can be obtained. So generally use asexual reproduction to obtain the seed ball, and then plant the seed ball into the field to grow into commercial lilies. Bulbs are first cultivated into bulbs of 50 ~ 100 grams with various reproductive materials, and the number of years required varies according to the reproductive organs used. The following is a brief introduction to the methods of bulblet cultivation. The method of bulb cultivation is suitable for producing beads.

Lily seed life is very short, storage half a year will lose germination ability, and sowing seedlings need to cultivate for many years before flowering. After sowing, lily must be cultivated for several years to obtain commercial bulbs. Therefore, the general use of asexual reproduction to obtain seed balls, and then seed balls planted into the field to grow into commercial lily. Seed bulbs are first cultured into small bulbs of 50 ~100 g with various propagation materials, and the required years vary according to different propagation organs. The following is a brief introduction to the method of bulblet cultivation.

The method of bulbil cultivation is suitable for varieties producing bulbil, such as lily varieties. Mature bulbils were harvested in summer. From late September to early October, 4 cm deep sowing furrows were opened according to the row spacing of 12 cm ~15 cm. One bulbils was sown every 4 cm ~6 cm in the furrows, and about 3 cm soil was covered after sowing. Before freezing, soil was cultivated and covered with grass to ensure safe winter. In the spring of the second year, the covered grass and film were removed when seedling emerged, intertillage and weeding were carried out, and proper watering and topdressing were carried out to promote vigorous growth of seedlings. After the aboveground part withers in autumn, small bulbs are dug out, sown according to the row spacing of 30 cm and the plant spacing of 9 cm to 12 cm, and the soil thickness is about 6 cm. After cultivating for another year according to the management method of the previous year, seed bulbs reaching the standard size can be harvested in autumn, and some small bulbs that do not meet the standard can be continuously cultivated.

This method is only suitable for sand purple lily with bulbils. In summer and autumn, mature bulbils are collected and then dished. Bulblets can be formed in the same year, germinated in the spring of the next year, dug up and planted in autumn, and most of them can bloom after 3 years.
