Bladder stone is the stone that occurs in the bladder, which is the most common bladder disease in dogs with urethral stones, which is more common in elderly dogs. The main component of stone is phosphate. In August 2005, a Jingba dog raised by Zhang in Mishan Town, Wendeng City, developed bladder stones and was cured after surgical treatment.

1 clinical symptoms

The owner complained: the dog is a female, 4kg, 8-year-old, daily food is mainly meat, recently found that the dog's belly dilated, dysuria. Abdominal palpation bladder filling, pain, suspected that the dog has bladder stones, consultation with the animal owner, abdominal exploration surgery.

2Surgical methods

Operating table supine Baoding, 846 general anesthesia. The operation site was located at the ventral white line of 3~5cm at the anterior edge of the ear bone. The surgical site was shaved and disinfected, and the skin was cut from the anterior edge of the pubis to the umbilical cord to grow 6cm. After hemostasis, the interthecal fascia of the midline rectus abdominis muscle was sharply separated to the peritoneum. After opening the peritoneum, the bladder was found to be full of urine, the urine was extracted with a syringe about 200mL, and the bladder shrunk. Push the bladder neck with two fingers, carefully turn the bladder out of the wound, make the bladder dorsal upward, and then surround the bladder with moist warm saline gauze to prevent urine from flowing into the abdominal cavity. Make a 1cm incision on the back of the bladder without blood vessels, and find stones in the bladder. Remove the stones with a bladder spoon. Among them, there are 1 peanut, several soybeans and dozens of millet. At this time, the assistant uses a sterilized catheter to insert through the urethral orifice, and rinses it with sterilized saline for several times. After confirming that there were no stones in the urethra and bladder, the bladder was washed with sterilized normal saline with ampicillin, and then the bladder incision was closed. The bladder was sutured with absorbable suture, the first was sutured with spiral suture, and the second was sutured with continuous inverted suture. after washing with normal saline, the peritoneum was sutured with silk, the rectus abdominis sheath on both sides was sutured with nodules, and the skin was also sutured with nodules. Finally, the wound edge of the skin is sorted out, and the operation part is smeared with iodine.

3 postoperative nursing

The diseased dogs were intravenously injected with 5% glucose saline 100~200mL after operation. The skin incision was smeared with iodine twice a day, and ampicillin 0.5 g was injected intramuscularly twice a day for 5 to 7 days to prevent infection. After 7 days, the stitches were removed and the sick dogs recovered.
