Late ripening peach rookie: red snow peach

2. Introduction of red snow peach varieties:

Hongxue peach is Ma Yuxi, senior engineer of China Winter ripening Fruit Tree Research Center in Junxian County, Henan Province, using a hybrid between "snow peach" and "winter peach". The breeding of this variety completely put an end to the history of the original snow peach without color and small winter peach fruit, and completely solved the shortcomings of natural fruit cracking and rapid browning after fruit cutting of the original snow peach. It is an ideal new variety of late ripening peach. It has the advantages of high yield, high quality and strong anti-cracking fruit. the fruit and snow peach are matured and listed at the same time, and are favored by consumers.

Red snow peach has strong adaptability and can be planted in all soils except saline-alkali land and waterlogged land: it is suitable to plant 42 plants per mu in hillsides, hills and barren land, while in general land, the row spacing is 5 meters × 4 meters and 33 plants are planted per mu. It can blossom and bear fruit 1-2 years after planting, and enter the full fruit period 4 years later.

The flower bud of Hongxue peach began to expand and the leaf bud sprouted in the first ten days of March in the northern part of Henan Province. The flower bud was pink on March 27, the flower began to bloom on April 1, and the flowering period was 7 mi 10 days. In late June, when the fruit grew to 3.8 cm in longitudinal diameter, it entered the hard core stage, and the development began to grow slowly and almost did not grow. Due to the drop in temperature on August 20, the fruit began to grow normally and matured on October 25.

In order to improve the fruit quality, the work of vegetables and fruits should be done well in the flowering stage and young fruit stage of red snow peach. The ripe red snow peach fruit is flat and round, with short sharp horns, the fruit suture lines are basically symmetrical on both sides, and the fruit shape is correct. Generally, the weight of a single fruit is 200 ~ 350 grams, and the maximum weight of a single fruit is 400-500 grams, with a bright purplish red on the sunny side, golden yellow on the back, and a very beautiful red and yellow fruit. The fruit harvested during the normal ripening period has fine flesh, crisp taste and sweetness that exceeds that of rock sugar. The sugar content is as high as 20-26.5%, ranking first among peach varieties in the country.
