Soil preparation: choose fertile soil with good sunshine and thick soil layer, deeply plough and rake, then ditch fertilization, fertilization ditch width 35 cm, depth 30 cm, row spacing 50 cm. 4 square meters of high-quality farm manure and 80 kilograms of quick-acting nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer are applied per mu. Apply fertilizer to the ditch, mix well with soil and fill it. Second, sowing: Giant garlic has a longer growth cycle than ordinary garlic and needs to be planted early and harvested late. Open a 6 cm deep sowing ditch in the middle of the fertilizing ditch, sow after irrigation, put one garlic seed in each nest, plant spacing 30 cm, cover the ditch flat after sowing.

First, soil preparation: choose fertile soil with good sunshine and thick soil layer, rake deeply and then open ditches to fertilize. The ditch is 35 cm wide, 30 cm deep and 50 cm between rows. 4 square of high quality farm manure and 80 kg of available nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer were applied per mu. Apply fertilizer to the ditch, add soil, mix well and fill it.

Second, sowing: giant garlic has a longer growth cycle than ordinary garlic and needs to be planted early and harvested late. Open a 6 cm deep sowing ditch in the middle of the fertilizer ditch, sow seeds after irrigation, put a clove of garlic in each litter, plant spacing 30 cm, cover the ditch with soil after sowing.

Third, split seedlings: giant garlic because the cloves are large, a very small number of cloves are merged by two cloves, and some garlic contain two or more bud embryos, so there is a phenomenon of two or more plants in one clove after sowing. A full-head knife can be used to cut vertically down in the middle of the merged plant, leaving 1 plant, digging out the excess plant and transplanting it separately. Seedling division and transplanting can be carried out 30 days after sowing.

Fourth, management: watering every 5 days or so before emergence to keep the soil moist and conducive to seedling emergence. After gathering the seedlings, hoe them once, and then water them properly depending on the situation. After the beginning of winter, the northern cold zone should be covered with rice straw, corn stalk and other cold protection. It is best to add a layer of sheep, cow and horse dung below, and then cover the grass. This can not only prevent the cold, but also increase the soil fertility. After the beginning of spring, topdressing is carried out in combination with watering, and the removal of weeds in the field is done well. The shallow hoe after watering can increase the ground temperature and accelerate the growth of garlic.

Fifth, harvest: giant garlic should not be harvested too early, so as not to affect the yield and quality, it is appropriate to harvest when the leaves turn yellow. Dry in time after harvest and store in a ventilated and dry place for seed or consumption.
