Garlic winter storage
Garlic can be used to dig storage ditches in the shade where the topography is higher before freezing. The ditch is 50-60 cm deep and 60-70 cm wide. The ditch length can be determined according to the amount of storage. Storage in the ditch began when the local temperature dropped to 1: 2 ℃. 2-3 days before storage, the garlic should be fully dried to reduce the water content of garlic. When burying, cushion the bottom of the ditch with bricks or sticks 5cm high, and then pile the garlic on it to 15cm to 20cm from the surface. The garlic is covered with wooden sticks, grass curtains and so on, and then buried strictly with soil around to prevent ventilation. When covering the shed, a thin tube is tied vertically on one side of the shed, and a thermometer is hung in the tube, so as to measure the change of temperature in the ditch at any time. During storage, the temperature in the ditch should be controlled at 0: 10 ℃. When the air temperature is lower than-8 ℃, it should be covered with grass curtain to moisturize, and then removed in time when the temperature rises. After winter snowfall, clear the snow before melting to prevent the snow from flowing into the ditch. This storage method makes the garlic seed in the low temperature condition below 0 ℃, the respiration is stopped or semi-stopped, and the nutrition consumption of garlic seed is reduced.
