Brief introduction of New glutinous Rice Variety Ningnuo No.2

Ningnuo No. 2 was identified and named at the seventh meeting of Ningxia Variety approval Committee. It has the characteristics of high yield and high quality, with a yield of 650kg per mu and a high yield of more than 750kg. In 1987, it took part in the regional test of glutinous rice and increased its yield by 13.9% compared with Ningnuo 1. The breeding of Ningnuo 2 was a successful attempt in the history of high light efficiency breeding in China, which created a new record of high yield of glutinous rice in Ningxia. The variety has neat and handsome population growth, long leaf functional period, fast grain filling speed, heading in early August, maturity in late September, growth period of 140-150 days, plant height 81~86cm, compact plant type, fertilizer resistance, lodging resistance, disease resistance, strong tillering ability, effective tillers per plant is 0.3 to 3, the highest is more than 16, and the panicle rate is high. The grain yield per panicle is 56-66 grains, the 1000-grain weight is 24-25 g, the brown rice rate is 81%-82%, the milled rice rate is 72%-75%, the rice is sticky and palatable, the crude protein content of milled rice is 6.25%, the lysine content is 0.34%, the total starch content is 82%, the crude fat content is 0.76%, the crude fiber content is 0.21%, and the ash content is 0.45%. It is suitable for planting in all rice-producing areas in Ningxia, and it is also suitable for various cultivation methods.
