Yunuoyou 16, a new glutinous rice combination

The Chongqing ratooning Rice Research Center of Chongqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Chongqing crop Research Institute) used Thai glutinous rice as the female parent and the natural variants of the local small glutinous valley were selected by multi-generation lines. It was approved by Chongqing crop Variety approval Committee in 2006 (Chongqing rice 2006021), which is suitable for glutinous rice planting in Chongqing and adjacent ecological areas below 800m above sea level.

Characteristics: this variety belongs to indica-japonica medium-late maturing glutinous rice with an average growth period of 156 days, which is 3 days longer than that of Shanyou 63. Plant height 101cm, effective panicles per mu 150000 ears, ear length 26.2cm, total grains per panicle 157grains, seed setting rate 89.6%, 1000-grain weight 27.6g.

Good resistance: in 2005, the seed station of Chongqing was sent to Fuling District Institute of Agricultural Sciences of Chongqing for resistance identification. The results showed that the comprehensive resistance index of Shanyou 63 was 7.25, which was susceptible to rice blast, while that of Shanyou 63 was 8.5, which was highly susceptible to rice blast.

Rice quality excellent: in 2005, Chongqing seed Station sampled and sent to the Rice and products quality Supervision, Inspection and Test Center of the Ministry of Agriculture for determination. The brown rice rate was 80.5%, milled rice rate was 73.1%, head rice rate was 50.7%, grain length 5.4mm, length-width ratio was 2.0, gel consistency 100mm, amylose 2.6%, protein 9.9%. The comprehensive quality index reached the standard of glutinous rice quality.

High yield: participated in the special rice regional trials in Chongqing in 2001 and 2003, the average yield per mu was 6.41t ·hm ~ (- 2). In 2005, the average yield per mu was 7.65t.hm-2, which was 17.2% higher than that of Shengtai No. 1.
