1. Implement the transformation of Laotang

In accordance with the requirements of "ecology, circulation, health and intensification", the Laotang reconstruction project should carry out the main construction of "dredging deep silt, transformation of pond shape, slope protection of pond embankment, widening and arrangement of pond ridges, and lack of matching facilities for water, electricity and roads". In particular, the thick layer of silt at the bottom of the pond should be removed to reduce the sediment to about 20 cm. By clearing silt and digging depth, strengthening embankments and slope protection, the pond depth can reach 2.5 to 3.0 meters, and the effective water storage depth should be more than 1.5 to 2.0 meters, so as to provide sufficient activity space for culture positions, realize "high yield of large fish and deep water fish in wide water", improve the ability to resist natural disasters such as farming diseases and abnormal climate change, floods and waterlogging, facilitate multi-species mixed culture and rotation, and increase pond yield per unit area and economic benefits.

In order to capture the high yield and efficiency of fishery, the new ponds must adhere to high standards: the location should choose places with convenient transportation, no pollution sources, sufficient water sources, fresh water quality and flat terrain; the pond is rectangular in shape and the ratio of length to width should be 5 ∶ 3; the area of single culture ponds should be determined according to different breeds and convenient operation, generally 6 mu (1 mu = 667m2). The depth of the pond should depend on the culture species, such as the four domestic fish, the pond depth of conventional fish is about 3m, the pond depth of special aquatic products such as Penaeus vannamei is about 2.5m, and the slope ratio within the pond is maintained at 1 ∶ 2; the width of the pond ridge should be more than 6m, so that the pond can be opened to traffic for convenient transportation.

3. Strengthen the construction of supporting facilities for ponds

The complete pond supporting facilities should include intake and drainage system, electricity, road and aquaculture machinery, transport vehicles, management rooms and other facilities. If the supporting facilities are not complete, the influent and drainage still need to be carried out through the pond, which will increase the chance of the spread of fish disease. Where the aquaculture supporting facilities are backward or incomplete, the aquaculture yield is often not high and the aquaculture efficiency is low. Therefore, conditions must be created to strengthen the construction of pond supporting facilities. In addition, it is also necessary to thoroughly remove the "three-water plants" from the river and ditches in the influent source, and optimize the pond culture environment.
