In recent years, piglet diarrhoea has high morbidity, high mortality, low cure rate and great loss.

Piglets

I. the cause of the disease

1. Maternal direct infection: sows with virus is the main cause of diarrhea in piglets. When sows are infected with circovirus Ⅱ, blue ear disease, epidemic diarrhea, Haemophilus parasuis, pseudorabies dogs, streptococci and swine fever, piglets are infected through lactation.

two。 The poor environment of pig house: poor ventilation in delivery room, poor environmental sanitation and unreasonable thermal insulation equipment are also important reasons for piglets infected with diarrhea.

3. Improper feeding and management: the sows transferred from the pregnancy house to the delivery room were not strictly disinfected, the delivery room could not be all in and out, and the feed nutrition level of lactating sows was low, and the quality of milk was poor.

4. Feed reason: feeding moldy and deteriorated feed, the nutritional level of feed is low, resulting in the decrease of immunity of sows, and the visceral function of piglets is damaged by lactation, which leads to diarrhea.

5. Unreasonable drug use and immune procedure: indiscriminate use of antibiotics, maternal drug resistance, chaotic and unscientific immune procedure, irregular immune antibody level of sows, decreased immunity and lack of protection to piglets.

Second, clinical symptoms

Piglets with diarrhea vary in age from 3 to 10 days, with yellow and white sparse feces within the first 1-2 days, followed by gray watery stools, some piglets with vomiting or neurological symptoms, rapidly dehydrated and emaciated, with a mortality rate of more than 75%.

Third, autopsy examination of pathological changes

There is yellow mucus in the stomach, mucous membrane congestion at the bottom of the stomach, some ulcer foci, small intestine, colon, large intestine, full of yellow fluid, mesenteric lymph nodes obviously enlarged, splenomegaly 1-2 times, liver enlargement, yellowing, gallbladder enlargement, bile thickening. Pleural effusion, pulmonary interstitial widening, swelling, bleeding symptoms, coronal fat bleeding.

IV. Treatment

1. Combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine. 1000 grams of Fuzheng jiedu Powder and 500g tilmicosin were added to each ton of sow feed for one month, and then used for one week every month.

two。 Piglets were injected intramuscularly with 0.01 ml of interferon and 0.2 ml of cefixime once a day for 3 days.
