Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Gastrodia elata likes to grow in warm and humid sandy (or rotten leaf) soil and has strict requirements on temperature and humidity. However, the area along the Great Wall in northern Shaanxi is located in the mid-temperate zone, which is dry and hot and has little rain in summer, which is not conducive to the growth and development of Gastrodia elata. In order to achieve a bumper harvest of Gastrodia elata, the measures that should be taken in summer management are as follows: ① to build a shed for shading. At noon in summer, especially on hot dog days, due to direct sunlight, the ground temperature reaches 20 cm (close to Gastrodia elata), and the ground temperature is as high as 30: 37 ℃ in order to control the ground temperature at 20: 28 ℃.

In order to achieve a bumper harvest of Gastrodia elata, the measures that should be taken in summer management are as follows:

① built a shed for shade. In summer, especially at noon on hot dog days, due to direct sunlight, the ground is 20 cm (close to Gastrodia elata) and the ground temperature is as high as 30: 37 ℃. In order to control the ground temperature at 20: 28 ℃, trees with grass curtains should be used to cover the cellar in summer.

② spray water to cool down. Between 12:00 and 14:00, a certain amount of well water can be sprayed or sprayed, and some black alum can be added to adjust the pH value. This can not only reduce the temperature, but also supplement the evaporation of water in the cellar, so that the relative humidity in Gastrodia elata area is kept at 70%-80%.

③ is covered with rotten leaves to regulate temperature and humidity. If it is inconvenient to build a shed, you can cover the surface of Tianma box cellar with 5 centimeters of rotten leaves and sand. This can not only conserve water and store water, but also shade.

④ drains and breathes air to prevent Gastrodia elata from rotting. In summer, trenches should be dug on all sides of Gastrodia elata border cellar to prevent flooding.

⑤ loosens the soil and breathes air. Loosen the surface soil every 2 weeks to facilitate the growth of Gastrodia elata.
