What is Gastrodia elata planted in bed on the ground
Low-lying flat land, high groundwater level, low temperature, wet and rainy, or small area cultivation of gastrodia elata in new areas, this kind of hemp planting method can be adopted. Bed planting is also divided into single-layer hemp planting and double-layer hemp planting two methods.
1 single-layer hemp planting method: the ground leveling, bed, bed width 60~70 cm, bed length according to the terrain and hemp planting number and decide. Spread 2~3 cm thick basic culture material on the flat bed surface, and then horizontally swing the bacterial rods, the spacing of the bacterial rods is 6 cm. On both sides of the bacterial rod, first fill the culture medium to half of the bacterial rod, and plant Gastrodia elata close to the bacterial rod. The planting distance depends on the size of the hemp plant. After the hemp seed is arranged, it is covered with 6~8 cm of basic culture material and then covered with about 2 cm of sand. This is the single-layer bed planting gastrodia elata method.
(2) Double-layer hemp planting method: After planting the first layer of hemp and covering 5~6 cm of culture material, arrange the bacteria stick, plant the second layer of hemp (the method is the same as the first layer), cover the culture material 4~6 cm, and then cover 3 cm thick small rice grains to sorghum grain size sand to seal the bed surface. The temperature in the area where double layer hemp planting method is adopted is higher than that in the area where single layer hemp planting method is adopted.

What is the asexual reproduction of Gastrodia elata
If the "parrot mouth"-like mixed buds of arrow hemp are removed, arrow hemp can no longer stem, blossom and bear fruit. Arrow hemp without mixed buds and tubers of white and rice flax were used as seed cultivation, and the rods, branches and basic culture materials of Armillaria mellea were used as main and auxiliary sources of nutrition to continue to reproduce offspring, which is called asexual reproduction of Gastrodia elata. At present, asexual reproduction is the main method to cultivate Gastrodia elata, including box cultivation, bed frame cultivation, open field cultivation, bottle cultivation and plastic bag cultivation.

When is the most suitable time to plant Gastrodia elata and what is the effect of planting time on Gastrodia elata yield?
Gastrodia elata should be planted in the dormant period. Winter planting from October to November, spring planting from March to April, the effect is better. Generally do not plant Gastrodia elata in summer, because this is the growing season of Gastrodia elata, at this time mining will destroy the relationship between Gastrodia elata and Armillaria mellea, even if barely survive, the effect is also very poor. Choosing the appropriate cultivation time is one of the important measures to increase the yield of Gastrodia elata. The most suitable cultivation time should be from October to November (called autumn and winter planting), followed by February to March (called spring planting), and the worst is from June to July.
