Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Covering soil culture is an important measure to obtain high yield of Pleurotus ostreatus. However, before fruiting or after harvesting the first crop of mushrooms, a water-tight and air-tight bacterial membrane is often formed on the surface of the covering soil by vigorous aerial hyphae, which affects fruiting. This kind of bacterial film will consume a lot of nutrients, resulting in yield reduction of Pleurotus ostreatus, which must be prevented in production. The reasons for the formation of bacterial film are as follows: firstly, when the bag material of bag cultivation is not sufficient, it will be covered with soil, resulting in the second vegetative growth of mycelium on the ground surface and the formation of bacterial film; secondly, the formula of cultivation material is unreasonable, and the nitrogen content is blocked.

Soil mulching cultivation is an important measure to obtain high yield of Pleurotus ostreatus. However, before mushroom emergence or after the first stubble mushroom harvest, the covered soil surface will often form an impermeable and impervious bacterial membrane from the vigorous growth of aerial hyphae, which will affect the mushroom emergence. This kind of bacterial film will consume a lot of nutrients and reduce the production of Pleurotus ostreatus, which must be prevented in production.

The reasons for the occurrence of bacterial film are as follows: first, the soil is covered when the bag material of Pleurotus ostreatus is insufficient, resulting in the second vegetative growth of hyphae on the surface, resulting in the formation of bacterial film; second, the formula of cultivation material is unreasonable, the nitrogen content is blocked, and the ratio of carbon to nitrogen is out of balance; third, the nitrogen content in the cover soil is too high, or urea is added; fourth, the clay weight and consolidation of the covered soil are added. Fifth, the temperature of the mushroom period is too high, the temperature difference is small, or the mushroom shed (room) is poorly ventilated, the light is too dark, too watered, too much humidity and so on.

The countermeasures to prevent the production of bacterial membrane are as follows: first, the mycelium of the cultivation bag should be fully transparent, and then cover the soil and produce mushrooms when it begins to transfer to reproductive growth. The standard of bacteria is: feel the bacterial bag light, floating, the appearance of the bacterial bag wrinkle bag with yellow-brown stagnant water, or see the occurrence of small mushroom buds. Second, select a reasonable formula of cultivation materials, and strictly control the ratio of carbon to nitrogen in the substrate according to the standard. The formula of cultivation materials can be flexibly mastered according to the cultivated varieties. Third, choose old mature vegetable garden soil to cover, and light loam soil is suitable. Some plant ash and compound micro-fertilizer can be added to the soil, but urea is generally not suitable. Fourth, spray water less and evenly after covering the soil, taking the moisture of the soil at the bottom as the degree. Strengthen the management of mushroom shed (room), high temperature season, it is appropriate to expand ventilation at night, in order to widen the temperature difference between day and night and form mushroom buds as soon as possible. Fifth, once the bacterial film occurs, you can use wire hooks to cut through the bacterial film for many times until the surface mycelium stops growing. At the same time, increase temperature difference stimulation and ventilation, control water spray, and appropriately enhance light exposure. In this way, it can be transferred to normal mushroom production after 10-15 days.
