Propagation technology of lily
It is mainly propagated by scales, bulbs and bulbs.
First, cultivate the seed stem
(1) scale propagation when the leaves of lilies begin to turn yellow in autumn, select strong and disease-free plants, dig the bulbs, cut off the base, separate the scales, take the inner scales, plant them on the prepared border from September to October, plant them in trenches according to plant spacing of 3 cm and row spacing of 17 cm, cover soil with 3 cm, cover grass to preserve moisture. After planting, small bulbs grow from the cut, develop into new plants in the spring of the second year, and then colonized or cultured continuously for 3 years in autumn, digging large ones for medicinal purposes and small ones for keeping seeds.
(2) when the bulblets are propagated and harvested, select the bulbs on the disease-free plants, soak them in 2% formalin solution for 15 minutes and disinfect them, take them out and hang them slightly, then plant them in the field according to the row spacing of 15 cm × 6 cm. After one year of planting, the large bulbs harvested were used as medicine, and the small bulbs continued to be used as seeds.
(3) Propagation of bulbs after maturity in summer, the buds are harvested, mixed with moist fine sand and stored in a cool and ventilated place. In the middle and last ten days of September, in the whole seedbed, trench was opened by row spacing of 15 cm and depth of 3 cm to 7 cm. One bead bud was sown every 5 cm in the ditch, then covered with 3 cm fine soil and covered with grass to moisturize. The next autumn is an one-year bulb, and then cultured for another year according to the bulblet propagation method, commercial lilies can be obtained.
II. Colonization
In October, select the seed stem with tightly clasped scales, white shape, no damage, no disease and insect harm, soaked in 2% formalin solution for 15 minutes, then put one bulb every 15 cm according to row spacing of 25 cm, depth of 10 cm and 13 cm, top up, cuddle the border surface, cover with soil and cover grass to moisturize. The amount of seed used per mu is about 200 kg.

Lily sowing period
It is suitable for mid-late September in the Central Plains; in alpine areas, it is too late, too little rooting before winter, not flourishing in the beginning of spring, and unfavorable emergence of seedlings; too early, the ground temperature is too high, and the bulbs are susceptible to disease and rot, resulting in lack of seedlings and weak seedlings. The general principle is to be early rather than late. The daily average temperature is about 20 ℃, and there is no high temperature above 32 ℃. The best sowing time is sunny day after rain.
