Last Updated: 2024/11/05, There are two ways to collect snake venom: "dead mining" and "living mining". "Dead picking" is a special * destructive method to cut off venomous glands from the head of venomous snakes cut off by processing units or to anaesthetize rear trench venomous snakes and sea snakes that produce less poison, and it is only used occasionally in special circumstances. The "live mining" method is generally used in order to eat snake resources for free. The following is a brief introduction to several "live mining" methods. The method of collecting poison by ⑴ electrical stimulation uses weak electrical stimulation tools such as "acupuncture anaesthesia instrument" to stimulate the mouth of snakes with special electrodes.

There are two ways to collect snake venom: "dead mining" and "living mining".

⑴ electrical stimulation collection method this method uses weak electrical stimulation tools such as "acupuncture anaesthesia instrument" and uses a special electrode to stimulate the inner wall of the snake mouth. As soon as the snake is stimulated by electricity, it will detoxify immediately because of electric anesthesia. The selection of "acupuncture anaesthesia instrument" should be weak and it is appropriate to detoxify the snake; if the stimulation is too large, it will affect the health of the snake.

⑵ bite dish poison collection tool smile glass dish or small porcelain plate (spoon). When collecting poison, place the snake naturally on the workbench, hold the snake neck with one hand, and send the glass vessel or porcelain plate into the mouth of the snake with the other hand. After the snake bites, the venom will flow out. When the venom stops flowing out, take out the vessel or small porcelain plate. This method is simple * convenient and easy to operate, and it can also be applied to venomous snakes that have lost their fangs. the disadvantage is that snake venom should be contaminated by impurities such as microbes * exfoliated epithelium * mucus * sediment in the mouth of snakes, and the amount of snake venom collected by each snake is small. See figure 34 for poison collection in glass dishes.

The poison collection tool of ⑶ biting film collection method is a small glass funnel, the funnel mouth is firmly covered with transparent and elastic nylon film, and the end of the funnel is blocked with rubber plugs. When collecting poison, grab the snake neck with one hand, and gently touch the snake mouth with the other hand. When the snake opens its mouth, after the venom stays, it can twist the funnel to loosen its mouth slightly, and take the opportunity to push out the funnel film. Each funnel can be used continuously until the nylon film is damaged or the venom cannot be stored in the tube. This method is relatively simple, but snakes that have lost their fangs cannot use it. The device and method for collecting poison from bite dishes are shown in figure 35.

⑷ negative pressure detoxification method is improved on the basis of bite film method. That is, the funnel mouth is covered with a layer of plastic film, the bottom of the funnel is connected with the centrifugal pipeline through the rubber plug, and the side pipe of the funnel is connected to the water pump through the rubber tube, and the tap of the pump is opened before collecting poison to form negative pressure in the funnel. The operation method of collecting poison is the same as the biting film method, but this method is more effective for venomous snakes that produce less venom, such as vipers, but it is necessary to change the film frequently to ensure the negative pressure effect. Poisonous snakes with thick fangs are not allowed to use this method.

The ⑸ backlog method holds the snake neck in one hand, places the snake head on top of the poison container, and pushes the venom glands on both sides with the second finger of the other hand. The venom flows out of the snake mouth and squeezes until the non-venomous liquid flows out. This method is easy to manipulate, and it can also be used for venomous snakes that have lost their fangs. If this method cooperates with the poison collector, the effect will be better. The poison collector is shown in figure 36.

In the process of collecting poison in the above methods, if it is found that the mouth of the collected snake is inflamed * when there is red swelling or purulent blood, it is not suitable to collect poison and should be treated in time. It is not too late to collect it after it is completely cured.
