Taiwan sweet peach, also known as red peach, is a kind of deciduous fruit tree, belonging to small and medium-sized fruits. In the absence of fruit thinning, the weight of a single fruit is about 100 grams. Under artificial fruit thinning cultivation, the weight of a single fruit can be increased to 150 grams, and the maximum fruit weight can reach 250 grams. The fruit was planted in Fogang and Heyuan in our province, and the fruit ripening period was in the middle and late May. The fruit is bright red when ripe, crisp, sweet, good flavor, hard, resistant to storage, pulp and core are not completely separated. Planted in that year, the next year's plant yield can reach more than 3 kilograms, is a very promising new variety of fruit trees, especially suitable for cultivation in the mountainous areas of northern Guangdong. The main points of its cultivation techniques are introduced as follows:
First, suitable climate and soil are suitable for growing Taiwan sweet peaches in places suitable for growing peaches, plums and seasons. This variety does not have high requirements for soil, thin or fertile land can blossom and bear fruit, but it is best to choose loose soil for planting.
The self-pollination ability of Taiwan sweet peach is weak, so it is best to be planted with Taiwan honey peach, the proportion is 9 ∶ 1 or 8 ∶ 2. The row spacing is 3 m × 4 m, planting 50-55 plants per mu. The planting method is the same as that of other fruit trees, digging holes and applying sufficient basal fertilizer before planting.
