They think that this can enable fish species to adapt to the pond environment as soon as possible, so that they can open and grow early in spring. in fact, it is better to use winter to expose butterflies to fish ponds, especially aging fish ponds.

With the accumulation of fertilizer and bait residue, fish feces and sediment impurities in aging fish ponds, a variety of pathogenic microorganisms multiply in large numbers, which aggravates the aging of fish ponds, which directly affects the pond management in the following year, and then affects the fish production. Both adult fish and fish species are dormant in winter, neither feeding nor growing. At the same time, the pathogenic microorganisms in fish ponds are also dormant, so sunning ponds can effectively kill many pathogenic microorganisms and lay a good material foundation for the healthy growth of fish in the future.

In order to help fishermen do a good job of drying ponds, the specific methods are introduced as follows.

First, drainage and sunbathing ponds. Due to the cold winter and the large temperature difference between day and night, the activity of pathogenic microorganisms in the pond is weak and cannot withstand the severe cold and sun. At the same time, after freezing and exposure, the soil at the bottom of the pond becomes loose, which is helpful to the activity of bacteria after contact with the air. convert harmful substances into nutrients to create conditions for improving dissolved oxygen and water quality in fish ponds in the coming year.

Second, decontamination and silt removal. After the pond water is drained, the mud at the bottom of the pond is removed and stacked on the slope of the fish pond to thicken the ridge of the pond or transport the mud to the farmland and vegetable fields as fertilizer. The workload of desilting in fish ponds is large, mud pumps and pressure swing pumps can be used to desilt when the groundwater level is high, and bulldozers can be used to desilt when the groundwater level is not high. Through dredging, the capacity of fish ponds can be expanded and the capacity of drought resistance and water conservation can be enhanced. Desilting in high-yield fish ponds at least once every 3 years, although the cost is high, it can reduce the bait coefficient and the cost of fish disease control, and the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. In Jili District, Luoyang City, a high-yield breeding area of our province, some households have to desilt once a year. From the feedback, the comprehensive benefit is very significant.

Third, rotation of flood and drought. Drain the pond water and retain 10 cm thick silt, plant some short-season crops such as ryegrass and vegetables during winter, and aerate, absorb and transform various excess nutrients in the soil through crop roots, so as to improve the soil structure. in order to achieve the purpose of destroying the living environment of aquatic bacteria. When the deep silt in the fish pond causes a high incidence of fish disease, we can improve the bottom of the pond by "fishing moratorium" and planting lotus root.
