Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Treatment of several special cases of cotton after sowing 1. After sowing, soil moisture should be checked in time. For cotton fields with poor soil moisture and the possibility of drying out, ditches can be opened at the edge of the seed ditch to irrigate small water; cotton fields without water irrigation conditions can suppress and increase soil moisture before the seedlings are unearthed. 2. In case of rain after sowing, the ground is easy to harden and shell when it rains after sowing. After the rain, hoe and loosen the soil should be made in time to break the knot to help the seedlings to be unearthed. If the soil cover is too thick, you should pick the soil to save the seedlings; the seedlings can not stand the strong light of the sun, so you should pay attention when picking the seedlings.

Treatment of some special conditions after cotton sowing

1. After sowing cotton with insufficient moisture content, check the soil moisture content in time. For cotton fields with poor moisture content and possibility of drying, ditch and irrigate small water beside seed furrow; cotton fields without watering conditions can be suppressed and raised before seedling emergence.

2. After sowing, when it rains, the ground is easy to harden and shell. After the rain, hoe and loosen the soil in time to break the hardening so as to help the seedlings emerge. If the soil is too thick, it should be stripped to save the seedlings; the seedlings cannot withstand the strong sunlight, and a small amount of wet soil should be reserved at the upper part of the seedlings when stripping seedlings.

3. After sowing cotton with incomplete emergence, check the emergence situation in time. Once missing sowing or rotten seeds and rotten buds are found, germinate and replant as soon as possible; if missing plants are found, immediately transplant seedlings and replant. Cotton seedlings before a true leaf, using bud seedlings transplant, after the emergence of true leaves using soil transplant. No matter what kind of transplanting method is used, water should be as little as possible to shorten the time of slow seedling. In order to prevent big seedlings from bullying young seedlings, transplanted cotton seedlings should occupy a larger space.

4. During the period of cotton sowing and emergence in low temperature weather, the weather is often changeable. Once encountering low temperature weather, it is necessary to hoe and warm up in time, or spread plant ash along the ridge to improve the soil temperature around the cotton seedlings. When necessary, 36% carbendazim 1000~1500 times solution or 50% sterilant 1000 times solution can be sprayed on cotton seedlings to control blight and anthracnose and prevent disease spread.
