The average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost were 238.9 kg, 97.32 kg and 87.7 kg respectively, which were 122.1%, 118.2% and 118.8% of the control variety Yumian 21 respectively. Zhongmiansuo 52 (Guoshen Cotton 2005006), formerly known as Zhongkangza 5, GKz Zhongza A49~668, was bred by Cotton Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Institute of Biotechnology of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Characteristics: Transgenic insect-resistant hybrid F1 seed, the whole growth period of spring cotton planted in the Yellow River Basin cotton area is 128 days. The plant is tower-shaped and compact, 90.4 cm high, with purple stems and many hairs, medium size and dark leaves, 7.4 nodes of the first fruit branch, 13.8 fruit branches per plant, 16.4 bolls per plant, ovoid bolls, 5.6 g per boll, smooth bolls, 10.2 g seed fingers, 40.2% lint, 89.2% flower rate before frost. Resistance to Fusarium wilt, Verticillium wilt and cotton bollworm.

Yield performance: In 2000~2001, we participated in the regional trial of insect-resistant cotton varieties in Yellow River Basin. In 2000, the average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost was 213.7 kg, 83.4 kg and 70.4 kg respectively, which were 101.4%, 99.3% and 99.0% of that of control variety Zhongmiansuo 29 respectively. In 2001, the average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost was 269.7 kg, 111.3 kg and 104.5 kg respectively, which were 107.8%, 115.7% and 115.7% of that of CK Zhongmiansuo 38. The yield of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost were 224.7 kg, 89.8 kg and 82.7 kg per mu respectively in 2002~2003, which were 110.4%, 107.9% and 106.5% of the control variety Zhongmiansuo 41.

CCRI 51 (National Examination Cotton 2005007), formerly known as SGK ZhongBZ 12, was bred by Cotton Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Institute of Biotechnology of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Characteristics: Transgenic insect-resistant hybrid F1 seed, Yellow River cotton planting spring cotton growth period of 131 days. The plant is compact, 89.7cm high, stem pubescent, leaf medium size, leaf color slightly pale, anther yellow, the first fruit branch node 7.0, fruit branch number 13.3 per plant, 16.4 bolls per plant, bolls oval, bracts larger, single boll weight 5.4g, open and concentrated, cotton fiber light brown, seed finger 10.2g, lint 38.1%, flower rate before frost 94.6%. It grows well in early stage, weak in late stage, resistant to Fusarium wilt, Verticillium wilt and cotton bollworm.

Yield performance: In 2001~2002, we participated in the regional trial of insect-resistant cotton varieties in Yellow River Basin. In 2001, the average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost was 250.7 kg, 95.6 kg and 91.0 kg respectively, which were 100.2%, 99.4% and 100.8% of that of control variety Zhongmiansuo 38. In 2002, the average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost was 233.2 kg, 88.2 kg and 82.7 kg respectively, which were 102.4%, 94.7% and 95.7% of that of control variety Zhongmiansuo 41 respectively. In 2003, the average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost was 192.4 kg, 73.0 kg and 70.3 kg respectively, which was 106.7%, 97.1% and 101.4% of that of CCRI 41.

Handan 109 (National Examination Cotton 2005009), original name: GK45, bred by Handan City Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Institute of Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Characteristics: Transgenic insect resistant conventional varieties, the whole growth period of spring cotton planted in the Yellow River Basin cotton area is 133 days. The plant is looser, 92.8 cm high, stem purplish red, thicker, leaves are large and thick, thick green, the first fruit branch node is 8.1, the single plant has 16.7 bolls, the bolls are oval, the boll tip is obvious, the single boll weight is 5. 8g, the floc is open and concentrated, the lint percentage is 38.43%, the seed finger is 12.6g, the flower rate before frost is 87.4%. The HVICC fiber has average length of upper half 30.2 mm, breaking strength 31.8 cm N/tex, micronaire value 5.0, elongation 5.8%, reflectance 72.5%, yellowness 9.0 and uniformity index 85.0%.

Yield performance: In 1999~2000, we participated in the regional test of insect-resistant cotton varieties in the Yellow River Basin, and the average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost was 231.9 kg, 89.0 kg and 77.8 kg, respectively, which were 103.3%, 97.8% and 96.4% of the control variety Zhongmiansuo 29. In the production test in 2000, the average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost was 216.4 kg, 89.0 kg and 77.8 kg, respectively.

The plant is tower-shaped, 93.9 cm high, leaves are medium small, dark green, deeply notched, the first fruit branch node is 7.6, the number of fruit branches per plant is 13.4, the number of bolls per plant is 16.3, the bolls are oval, the weight of each boll is 5.3 grams, the bolls are open smoothly, the seed finger is 10.0 grams, the lint percentage is 40.3%, and the flower rate before frost is 89.2%. Good germination, good growth in early stage, strong growth in middle and late stage; resistant to Fusarium wilt, Verticillium wilt and cotton bollworm.

Yield performance: In 2000~2001, we participated in the regional trial of insect-resistant cotton varieties in Yellow River Basin. The average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost in 2000 was 211.9 kg, 83.4 kg and 70.2 kg respectively, which were 100.5%, 99.3% and 98.7% of the control variety Zhongmiansuo 29 respectively. In 2001, the average yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost was 249.9 kg, 103.0 kg and 97.0 kg respectively, which were 99.8%, 107.1% and 107.4% of that of CK Zhongmiansuo 38. Good emergence, early development, vigorous growth and stability, resistance to Fusarium wilt, resistance to verticillium wilt, resistance to cotton bollworm.
