Last Updated: 2024/11/08, The use of color is indispensable in garden construction. at present, red, yellow and green shrubs are often used to form color blocks in order to enrich the color composition of the garden. Because there are few red and yellow plants, red shrubs are often used with safflower trees, yellow shrubs with golden leaves, and green shrubs with rich varieties, such as guazihuang poplar, tortoise shell holly and so on. The golden leaf privet commonly used in small yellow shrubs has its obvious shortcomings: Ligustrum lucidum is a deciduous shrub of the genus Ligustrum lucidum of Oleaceae, which is light-loving, slightly shade-tolerant and drought-intolerant.

The use of color is indispensable in garden construction. at present, red, yellow and green shrubs are often used to form color blocks in order to enrich the color composition of the garden. As there are few red and yellow plants, the current red shrubs use safflower trees, yellow shrubs use gold leaf privet, and green shrubs are rich in varieties, such as guazihuang, tortoise shell holly and so on.

The golden leaf privet commonly used in yellow shrubs has its obvious shortcomings: Ligustrum lucidum is a deciduous shrub of the genus Ligustrum lucidum in Oleaceae. It likes light, is slightly tolerant to shade, is not tolerant to drought, cold and barren. Golden leaf privet can show a good golden yellow in a positive environment, but it does not grow well in negative conditions, let alone yellow, which is no different from green plants and can not meet the needs of color composition. In addition, the golden leaf privet will shed leaves in autumn and winter, and the leaves will be brown when they fall, and the color is very incongruous. We find that yellow poplar in Phnom Penh can make up for the deficiency of golden leaf privet in some ways. Populus tomentosa is an evergreen shrub of Populus tomentosa, which is shade-tolerant, drought-resistant and cold-resistant. Populus tomentosa is yellow in the color of the garden all the year round and does not lose its leaves, even under negative conditions. The living environment and site conditions of garden plants are very complex, which objectively requires that the more abundant the plant varieties, the better. Populus tomentosa adapts to this need and is of positive significance to the diversification of yellow plant varieties in garden color blocks. It has irreplaceable advantages of golden leaf privet under negative, dry and cold conditions, and can learn from other yellow shrubs to meet the needs of color blocks in garden construction.
