Wonderful treatment of yellow poplar and green hedge shell insects
In recent years, the occurrence of shell insects in gardens is more common, among which the harm of boxwood hedge is the most serious. After years of exploration and experiments, the author has mastered the following technical essentials:
(1) before germination in spring, spraying 3-5 Baumetolite-sulfur mixture or 3-5% diesel emulsion can eliminate overwintering nymphs.
(2) after the female shell insects lay eggs and gain weight, they should be washed away from the branches with a high-pressure faucet before laying eggs, and then protected by chemicals.
(3) the re-pruning of the hedge before hatching is beneficial to the improvement of control effect.
(4) the best time for the drug to kill shell insects is the incubation period, when the scale insects have not yet thickened, and the agent is easy to penetrate. 40% omethoate EC, 40% monocrotophos aqueous solvent, scale dead net EC 400 to 800 times are sprayed every 7 to 10 days for 2 to 3 times.
Using the above methods, the insecticidal rate can reach more than 90%. In addition, for the initial areas with less insect population, you can also use a brush or bamboo stick to remove it thoroughly.
