African impatiens
African impatiens (Impatienswallerana), also known as impatiens, native to Africa, is a perennial herbaceous flower of Impatiens family. Plant height 15-40 cm, the whole plant is fleshy, smooth and glabrous. Leaves alternate, ovate, leaf margin serrulate. Flowers axillary, flowers flat at the top of leaf axils, single or double varieties. There are pink, purple, orange, white and other monochromatic, but also star-shaped, whirlpool and other two-color, bright and colorful. The flowering period is very long, flowering almost all the year round, but the peak period is from autumn to spring. It has strong negative tolerance and is very suitable for greenhouse and household potted plants.
African impatiens like a warm and humid environment, not cold-resistant, afraid of frost, avoid exposure to the sun and rain, half-day or sunshine to retain 60-70% of the best light conditions, the appropriate temperature for growth is 15-25 ℃, the temperature can be maintained at a general level. It has the characteristics of slow seedling growth and seedling flowering, which is more obvious at low temperature, but has little effect on growth. As long as we strengthen topdressing and create a suitable growth environment, the plant can be plump and the flowers will bloom continuously.
