Last Updated: 2024/11/08, Rhododendron, alias Yingshanhong and rhododendron red, can be divided into four types: rhododendron, summer rhododendron, eastern rhododendron and western rhododendron according to flowering period and introduction source. If the temperature, humidity and other conditions are artificially controlled, the flowering time can be advanced or delayed according to personal preference. First, blossom ahead of time: the flower buds of rhododendrons generally begin to differentiate in autumn. In the cold winter season, azaleas are moved to greenhouses and maintained at a room temperature of 20-25 ℃, and water is often sprayed on branches with fine sprayers to maintain high humidity.

Azalea, also known as azalea and rhododendron, can be divided into 4 categories according to flowering period and introduction source: hairy rhododendron, summer rhododendron, eastern rhododendron and western rhododendron. The flowering period varies with different varieties. If the artificial regulation of its temperature, humidity and other conditions, according to personal preferences, so that it can advance or delay flowering time.

1. Early flowering: The flower buds of rhododendrons generally begin to differentiate in autumn. In the cold season of winter, azaleas are moved to greenhouse cultivation, maintained at room temperature of 20-25 DEG C, and often sprayed with fine sprayers on branches to maintain high humidity, and dense flowers can be opened after 45-50 days; if it is necessary to flower earlier, it is necessary to give 1-2 weeks of low temperature treatment before entering greenhouse cultivation, and the temperature is controlled below 0 DEG C. After moving to greenhouse warming culture, and often spray water, late December or early January can bloom.

Delayed flowering: azaleas in the bud formation, if it has been kept in a low temperature state, it will not flower temporarily. The specific method is to put the plants that form buds into cold rooms in early March to avoid the natural rise in spring temperatures and bloom. Cold room temperature can be maintained at 1-3℃, watering when the pot is dry, can be checked once every 10 days. If the storage period is long, a light should be set up in the cold room to enable photosynthesis. The date of removal from the cold room, y, should be calculated according to the date of flowering and the temperature conditions at that time. Those that bloom between July and October are removed about 15-20 days before the desired flowering date. The time should be taken out after 4 p.m. or before 9 a.m., after taking out should be placed in the shade, cool, windproof place culture, and then spray water on the plant, wait 4-5 days to recover vitality, and then see more sunlight. Some thin fertilizer can also be applied to make it bloom luxuriantly, flowers and lasting, although the hot days during the flowering period can still maintain 20 days without withering.
