With the improvement of people's living standard and the perfection of diet structure, the breeding of ornamental dogs and food dogs has been expanding continuously. Canine distemper caused by canine distemper virus has become one of the most harmful diseases to dogs. Canine distemper is a highly contagious disease caused by canine distemper virus (CDV), commonly known as dog distemper. It is most susceptible from 3 months to 1 year old and has a high mortality rate. The author has cured many cases of this disease in the clinical process, and the effect is ideal. It is briefly described as follows:

1 Clinical symptoms

The temperature of the sick dog increased, showing biphasic fever.(i.e. the initial body temperature is about 40℃, which lasts for 1~2 days and then drops to normal temperature, and the temperature rises again after 2~3 days); depression, cough, dry and cracked nose mirror, watery secretion flowing from nostrils; swelling of eyelids, large amount of eye drops or purulent secretion, corneal ulcer may occur in the later stage; small red spots, edema and purulent papules appear on the skin under abdomen and inside thigh; vomiting often, dry stool in the initial stage, diarrhea soon, blood and bubbles mixed in feces; Some later neurological symptoms, often secondary bacterial infection. This disease can only be diagnosed when cold, lobular pneumonia, infectious hepatitis, leptospirosis, canine parainfluenza, canine nocardia, bronchitis, etc. are excluded.

2 Preventive measures

2.1 Seven vaccines were injected into dogs on time, 3 times at 30~90 days old and 2 times at 90 days old, with an interval of 2~3 weeks. At the same time, environmental hygiene should be maintained, and efforts should be made to cut off the source of infection and eliminate incentives. Appropriate strengthening exercise, enhance physique and immunity.

2.2 The sick kennel should be ventilated, cool and quiet, the ground dry, feeding milk, eggs, meat sausage and other nutrient-rich foods that are easy to digest and absorb.

2.3 Early serum treatment can be used, intramuscular injection of 2~4mL per day for 3 days. At the same time, in order to prevent secondary infection, antibiotics can be used in combination with symptomatic treatment.

2.4 To prevent secondary bacterial infection, ampicillin 0.1 g/kg and dexamethasone 0.1 mg/kg were dissolved in 0.9% saline 250mL at 40~41℃. At the same time, in order to strengthen the body's resistance, 25% vitamin C 10 mL, complex vitamin B 10 mL, adenosine triphosphate disodium 40mg, coenzyme A 100 Iu dissolved in 5% glucose 250mL, divided into two groups intravenous injection.

2.5 If the feces of the sick dog are coal tar like, 2mL vitamin K3, 1mL vitamin B12, 0.5 g hemostat and 2mL clozapine can be used for intramuscular injection twice a day.

2.6 If the sick dog vomits and diarrhea, it can be injected with 2mL of Aimur or 1mL of metoclopramide. At the same time, treatment was given according to the following doses: gentamicin 0.2 million IU per kilogram of body weight, ribavirin 10mg, dissolved in glucose saline 250mL intravenous injection.

In the above cases, the drug is used for 3~5 days, and the drug is stopped for 3~5 days, and the patient generally recovers spontaneously.
