The differentiation period of flower bud and scale bud is from the beginning of flower bud and scale bud differentiation to the end of differentiation, which is called "petal period" in production, which usually takes 10 to 15 days. Garlic bulbs mature, that is, the garlic will enter the dormant period after harvest, which usually takes about 60 days. The length of dormancy period is related to varieties. Generally, the dormancy period of early-maturing varieties is about 65-75 days, while that of late-maturing varieties is 35-45 days. Garlic is cultivated in the field in various parts of Shandong Province, which belongs to asexual reproduction.

Preventive measures:

1. Adjust the sowing date appropriately. Appropriate late sowing, due to the continuous aggravation of warm autumn and warm winter, vegetable farmers can appropriately sow late for 10-15 days. If the temperature is normal, sow and manage according to the normal sowing time.

2. it can not be covered with plastic film. After covering the plastic film, it promotes the growth and development of garlic before the year, and it is easy to complete the division period prematurely. It is easy to produce secondary plants in the coming year. In order to prevent the occurrence of freezing injury, wheat straw can be covered in the field in the coldest time.

3. Appropriately reduce the fertilizer and water management before the year. Before the Spring Festival, as long as it can ensure the emergence of garlic seedlings and the basic survival of the need for fat and water, can not be too large to lead to the premature development of garlic.
