The city's major scientific and technological research project, "Research on the New combination of High quality and Super High yield small Station Rice", chaired by Academician Yuan Longping, has made a great breakthrough in increasing the yield of hybrid japonica rice by using modern high-tech biological breeding means. gradually realize the use of limited arable land to produce more grain and increase farmers' income. The success of planting super japonica hybrid rice this year will create good conditions for the large-scale popularization of this variety in this city and even the whole North China next year. In order to do a good job in the cultivation of super rice, the relevant departments of the city have also listed the "industrialization project of high quality, high yield, stress resistance and wide adaptability of improved varieties of hybrid japonica rice" as a focal point. at present, a production base of 10000 mu of hybrid japonica rice center is being actively constructed. the establishment of a company plus peasant household model of seed breeding field of 14000 mu; the establishment of enterprise R & D center and marketing center, etc., the total investment of the project is 61.86 million yuan, the construction period is two years. After the completion of the project, it can form an annual production capacity of 5 million kg of hybrid japonica rice seeds, and at the same time popularize the sowing of 2.5 million mu of new varieties of hybrid japonica rice.

It is also understood that the Tianjin hybrid rice research expert group led by Liu Xuejun, a national hybrid rice breeding expert, selected and bred "10 you 18" super hybrid rice, which was successful at the breeding base of Tanghai County, Hebei Province a few days ago. The yield and internal quality of the varieties can be rated as first-class in China. The average yield per mu of "10 you 18" is more than 800 kg, and farmers can increase their income by more than 150 yuan per mu.
