New cotton varieties

1. Red Sun 2

New varieties of conventional cotton. In 2005, it was approved by the crop Variety approval Committee of Uygur Autonomous region (No.: new Cotton 2005027). In the same year, it was listed as "National Cotton Show Variety" of Guiguo Agricultural Technology extension Service Center of the Ministry of Agriculture (demonstration number: national demonstration 2005022).

Characteristics: growth period 135-140 days, early and middle maturity varieties; strong growth potential, sparse plant type, medium leaf size, more leaf hair, strong boll setting, good early maturity; boll weight 6.0g; lint percentage 44%; pre-frost flowering rate 88%.

Fiber quality: fiber length 31.2mm, strength 29.6cn/tex, micronaire value 4.3.The fiber color is white.

Disease resistance: identification of plant protection station of autonomous region, investigation of peak incidence in growth period, immunity to Fusarium wilt, high resistance to Verticillium wilt.

Comprehensive evaluation: high yield: 10% Mur15% higher than Zhongmian 35; boll size: boll weight more than 6 grams; disease resistance: high resistance to Fusarium wilt.

Suitable areas: * precocious cotton areas in southern and eastern Xinjiang.

2. Hongyang No. 4 (demonstration variety)

The new conventional cotton variety selected by Red Sun Technology Co., Ltd. participated in the regional trial of * * Autonomous region in 2006.

Characteristics: mid-precocious, the whole growth period of 138 days, early rapid development, vigorous and robust growth, fruit branches, stout stalks, strong boll setting, smooth and concentrated catting, single boll weight 6.0 grams, lint percentage 42%, sub-finger claws about 2 grams, good productivity, less superfluous buds, time-saving and labor-saving management. The disease resistance was strong in the later stage, and the functional period of leaves was long.

Fiber quality: fiber length 30.1mm, specific strength 29.9CN/tex, micronaire value 4.6.

Disease resistance: high resistance to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt.

3. Nankang No. 3

A new genetically modified hybrid cotton variety jointly cultivated by Nanjing Red Sun seed Industry and cooperative units. In 2005, through the national examination and approval (approval number: national cotton 2005012), the Ministry of Agriculture focused on the demonstration and promotion of new cotton varieties and applied for the National Invention Award.

Characteristics: the growth period is about 140 days, belonging to early and middle maturing upland cotton varieties; the plant is tower-shaped, the plant type is compact, the boll setting is strong, the boll weight is 6.0 grams, and the lint percentage is 42%.

Fiber quality: fiber white, mercerized, 2.5% span 30mm, strength

29.1cn/tex, micronaire value 4.3.

Disease resistance: resistance to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt.

4. Hongyang No. 3 (demonstration variety)

* * A new transgenic high-yielding hybrid cotton variety selected by Hongyang Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. participated in the regional trial of * * Uygur Autonomous region in 2006.

Characteristics: the growth period is 140 days, the plant type is loose, the stem is stout, the leaf is medium, the leaf color is dark green, the boll is early, the boll is strong, the boll is oval, the boll shell is thin, the boll is smooth and concentrated, the boll is large, the single boll weight is 7.0g, the lint percentage is 41%, and the seed refers to 11g.

Fiber quality: 2.5% span 31.2mm, specific strength 31.2CN/tex, elongation 6.8%, micronaire value 4.5.

Disease resistance: high resistance to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt.
