A New Cotton Variety Shannong Shengmian No.1
Recently, the Fifth crop Variety approval Committee of Shandong Province held its fifth standing committee meeting and approved 55 new varieties of 9 crops such as corn, cotton and peanuts. Shannong Shengmian 1, a new transgenic insect-resistant cotton variety cultivated by Professor Shen Fafu of Shandong Agricultural University, has been approved. This is another new transgenic insect-resistant cotton variety cultivated by our school after Shannong Shengza 3.
Shannong Shengmian No. 1 is a transgenic insect-resistant conventional variety, with a growth period of 123 days, loose plant type, 6.5 nodes at the beginning of fruit branches, 16.8 bolls per plant, oval bolls, 6.2 grams per boll weight, lint percentage 40.2%, seed index 11.3 grams, pre-frost flower rate 93.5%, strong growth in the middle and later stage, good leaf function in the later stage, not early senescence, strong boll setting, resistance to Fusarium wilt, Verticillium wilt, resistance to cotton bollworm, saline-alkali tolerance. The average fiber length is 30.1 mm, the breaking specific strength is 30.2 N / Tex, the micronaire value is 4.8, the elongation at break is 6.4%, the reflectivity is 74.4%, the yellow depth is 7.9, the evenness index is 85.2%, and the spinning uniformity index is 150.
In 2005, Shannong Shengmian No. 1 participated in the Shandong regional test. Seed cotton, lint cotton and pre-frost lint cotton increased by 10.6%, 16.5% and 16.6% respectively compared with the control American cotton 99B. Seed cotton, lint cotton and pre-frost lint cotton all ranked first in the group and were recommended to participate in the national regional test. Participated in the variety regional trial of spring cotton group in the cotton area of the Yellow River from 2006 to 2007, seed cotton, lint and pre-frost lint increased by 11.6%, 6.8% and 5.2% compared with the control Lumianyan 21, respectively. In 2007, we participated in the production experiment of mid-mature conventional spring cotton group An in the cotton area of the Yellow River valley. The yield per mu of seed cotton, lint cotton and pre-frost lint cotton was 13.4%, 8.9% and 9.7% higher than that of the control Lumianyan 21, respectively. Seed cotton, lint and pre-frost lint ranked first in conventional spring cotton group A production trial varieties.
The variety has obtained safety certificates for production and application of agricultural genetically modified organisms in Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Tianjin, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, and is recommended for national examination and approval.
