1. Cuttage method: This method is the most widely used, the advantages are simple operation, high survival rate, rapid growth, stable properties.

(1) Time: West Juan is from late May to early June, Mao Juan is in the first and middle of June, Spring Juan and Summer Juan are in the middle and late June, at this time, the branches are moderately old and tender, and the climate is warm and humid.

(2) Cutting ears, taking the newly lignified branches of the current year, breaking them off with heels, trimming the heads, cutting off the lower leaves, keeping the top 3 to 5 leaves, keeping moisture for planting.

(3) Cutting management: cutting substrate can be orchid soil, mountain humus soil, yellow soil, vermiculite, etc., cutting depth is 1/3 to 1/2 of ear length is appropriate, after cutting is completed, spray water, cover film to keep moisture, give appropriate shade, keep cutting substrate moist all the time within one month, hair cuckoo, spring cuckoo, summer cuckoo can take root in about one month, west cuckoo about 60 days to 70 days.

2. Grafting: can be a stock of multi-ear, multi-species, fast growth, good plant shape, high survival rate.

(1) Time: From May to June, adopt the method of splitting or abdominal grafting of tender shoots.

(2) Rootstock: 2-year-old cuckoo, with proper thickness of new shoots and scions. Rootstock varieties such as "Jade Butterfly" and "Purple Butterfly" are better.

(3) scion: cut 3 cm to 4 cm long tender shoots from the mother plant of western cuckoo, remove the lower leaves, keep 3 to 4 leaflets at the end, cut the base into wedges with blades, and cut the surface about 0.5 cm to 1.0 cm long. 5. Grafting management: cut off the young shoots of the current year at the position of 2 cm to 3 cm, remove the leaves of this position, cut longitudinally by 1 cm, insert the wedge end of scion, align the cortex, bind the joint part with plastic film tape, cover the plastic bag to keep moisture; put it under shade, avoid direct sunlight and exposure. 7 days after grafting, as long as there are small water droplets in the bag and the scion does not wither, it is possible to survive;2 months to go to the bag, the next spring to untie the binding band.
