Last Updated: 2024/11/06, At present, antimicrobials and hormones account for a large proportion of many poultry feed additives. Long-term feeding of these additives will not only lead to excessive drug residues in poultry meat and eggs and affect the export qualified rate of products, but also harmful to people's health. Therefore, the development of feed additives without toxic and side effects has become a problem that should be paid attention to in the production of broilers. Garlic sugar solution is a kind of green food feed additive with no toxic side effects, which is prepared by a certain proportion of mashed garlic and sugar solution. It is palatable and can be suppressed.

At present, antimicrobials and hormones account for a large proportion of many poultry feed additives. It has strong palatability, can inhibit and kill some harmful bacteria in intestines and stomach, can remove toxic substances in intestines and activate cells that protect gastric mucosa, enhance mucosal resistance, help digestion, improve gastrointestinal function and improve feed utilization; at the same time, garlic also contains trace element selenium, which has obvious effect on preventing selenium deficiency and promoting the growth and development of chickens. At present, garlic and sugar are mostly added separately as feed additives for livestock and poultry in China, but the detailed data of adding these two kinds of mixture to feed livestock and poultry at the same time have not been seen so far. From June to July 1998, a comparative feeding experiment was carried out among broilers raised by professional households in Zaoyuan Town of this city, and the following results were obtained.

I. Materials and methods

1 preparation of garlic sugar solution: the peeled garlic that accounts for 2% of the diet is mashed into mashed garlic with equipment, and then the mashed garlic is fully stirred and soaked in sucrose water with a pre-prepared concentration of 8%, which accounts for 20% of the diet weight, and then set aside after soaking for 1 hour or 2 hours.

2 selection and grouping of experimental animals: in this experiment, 24-day-old commercial AA broilers raised by professional households in Zaoyuan Town of this city were selected. 300 healthy chickens of the same batch, the same age and body weight were randomly divided into two groups with 150 chickens in each group. The ratio of male to female in the two groups was the same. The experimental group was fed with garlic liquid in the diet, and the control group was not added. The two groups of diets are the same, and the formula is as follows: corn 60.7%, sorghum 6%, @ # @ 245 crude protein 6.8%, wheat bran 5%, bean cake 10%, imported fish meal 10%, bone meal 1%, salt 0.3%, trace elements 0.2%. In addition, poultry multivitamins 0.01%; contains metabolic energy 12.301 trillion joules / kg, crude protein 19.16%, calcium 0.913%, phosphorus 0.72%. After grouping, 4-day pre-test was carried out, and weighing, immunization, deworming, feed transition and adjustment of body weight were carried out in two groups. after biostatistical data processing, there was no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05), and then went into the experimental period.

(3) the test time: from June 15 to 18, 1998, 4 days was the pre-trial period, and from June 19 to July 16, 28 days was the trial period.

4 feeding and management: the two groups of broilers were raised in the same house with thick cushion on the ground, and the dry powder test group was fed with garlic syrup three times a day, free to eat and drink, unlimited amount of feed, and clean and hygienic in the house every day. During the trial period, the fixed person is responsible for recording the test data and observing the feeding situation. At the end of the experiment, the daily gain, feed-to-weight ratio and economic benefit of the two groups were calculated respectively.

II. Results and analysis

1. Weight gain and feed consumption: the weight gain and feed consumption of the two groups of broilers during the whole period of the experiment are shown in Table 1.

The results of Table 1 showed that the average daily gain of broilers fed with garlic sugar solution was 47.7 ±3.6 grams in the experimental group and 43.2 ±2.8 grams in the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). The feed-to-weight ratio of the experimental group was 2.18 ∶ 1, and that of the control group was 2.29 ∶ 1, that is, each weight gain was 1 kg. Compared with the control group, the experimental group could save 0.11kg of feed and increase the feed utilization rate by 4.8%. There was a significant difference between the two groups. During the trial period, the broilers in the experimental group showed a preference for food, fast food intake and an increase in feed intake, and the excretion of chicken feces was normal and there was no abnormal situation.

2. Economic benefits: the economic benefits of the two groups of tested broilers are shown in Table 2. The results from Table 2 show that the average gross profit of each broiler in the experimental group with garlic sugar solution added to the diet is 3.91 yuan, while that of the control group is 3.48 yuan. The economic benefit of the experimental group is 12.4% higher than that of the control group, and the benefit is obvious.
