Chuanxiangyou No. 2 is a new hybrid aromatic rice developed by crossing a new self-cultivated sterile line Chuanxiang 29A with a new self-cultivated restorer line Chenghui 177.

2. Yield and main character characteristics

Chuanxiangyou 2 is a late maturing combination of mid-indica hybrid, and its sowing date is 5 days longer than that of Sanyou 63. The yield per mu was 573.3 kg, 7.8% higher than that of Shanyou 63. Chuanxiangyou 2 is 117.2cm in plant height, 150 000 effective ears per mu, 182 grains per ear, seed setting rate 82.2%. Dry grain weight was 28.8 kg. In 2000, the yield of Shanyou 63 increased by 1.38% compared with that of Shanyou 63. The rice quality of this combination is excellent, and the grain belongs to medium length type. Rice grain translucent, shiny, 1/16 rice grain with fragrance. The results showed that the seven indexes of brown rice rate, milled rice rate, head milled rice rate, grain length, transparency, alkali digestion value and protein content of Chuanxiangyou 2 reached the first grade standard of high quality rice, and the three indexes of length/width ratio, gel consistency and amylose content reached the second grade standard of high quality rice. 3. Key points of cultivation techniques
