North Super Upland Rice-White Pearl No. 1

Bai Pearl No. 1 was introduced from Israel by Mingfeng Institute of Agricultural Sciences in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, and was selected by the institute for many years of purification and crossbreeding. It has been observed, summarized and analyzed for hundreds of days and nights in nearly 100 experimental sites in Northeast, Northwest and North China, and various difficulties have been overcome one by one. It is a new high-yielding upland rice variety suitable for large-scale cultivation in the north, which is known as the super upland rice in the north.

This variety is planted in Harbin City of Molong River, the whole growth period is 110-125 days, medium-short stalk, plant height 90-95 cm, no lodging. The average number of grains per spike is 130,160. the weight of 1000 grains is about 25g, and the spike is about 200000 per 667m2 (1 mu). High resistance to rice blast, strong resistance and wide adaptability. Spring sowing can replace spring corn in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liao and other regions, with a high yield of 600-700 kg in 667 square meters. In Huang-Huai area, wheat stubble can be sown in summer to realize two crops of rice and wheat instead of summer corn and two crops.

The rice yield of Bai Pearl No. 1 upland rice is more than 70%, and the rice quality is good, which is equivalent to the high-quality rice in Northeast China. According to the yield of 600 kg of 667 square meters, it can process 420 kg of rice, 180 kg of rice chaff and 600 kg of rice straw. The benefit is 3-4 times that of corn. The benefit of breeding seeds is higher.

White Pearl No. 1 has strong tillering ability, and the seed consumption of 667 square meters is about 6 kg.
