Key Technology and Economic benefit of Deep-buried drip Irrigation for Cotton
Cotton "deep-buried" drip irrigation technology is a new high efficiency water use technology after cotton film hose micro-hole irrigation technology. This technology can efficiently utilize fertilizer and water, and has obvious effect of increasing production.
I. Key technologies
1. irrigation
The irrigation time is the bud stage of cotton, and the cotton area in northern Xinjiang is generally 7~10 June. The irrigation cycle is 3 days. If it rains in autumn, the irrigation cycle can be 5 days. Irrigation amount: 8 cubic meters per 667 square meters in bud stage, 10 cubic meters in full bloom stage, 12 cubic meters in boll stage, 21~23 times in whole growth period, 220~240 cubic meters per 667 square meters in total irrigation amount, water supply stopped around August 14.
2. fertilization
According to soil testing and formula fertilization standard, on the basis of deep fertilization in autumn, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer were mainly applied as base fertilizer, nitrogen fertilizer was mainly applied in growth period, and water and fertilizer management was carried out according to "one water and one fertilizer". 2~3 kg urea/667 m2 is applied at budding stage, 3 kg urea/667 m2 is applied at flowering stage, and 25~31 kg chemical fertilizer/667 m2 is applied at whole growth stage. Because irrigation filter equipment is strict with potassium dihydrogen phosphate, artificial spraying can be used to nourish cotton fields under drip irrigation.
II. Comparison of economic benefits
In 2005, the cotton "deep buried" drip irrigation project area in Ershilidian Town, Hutubi County produced 147.1 kg lint cotton on average in 667 square meters. Compared with conventional furrow irrigation, cotton had obvious advantages in seedling number, number of fruit branches, number of bolls, top boll rate, single boll weight and yield, and the empty fruit branch rate was also relatively low. The comparison results are as follows:
Comparison table between deep-buried drip irrigation and conventional furrow irrigation
irrigation method 667 m2 bolls per plant average growth average plant height fruit branch platform boll weight lint yield lint kg
Number of plants (individual) Quantity (cm)(cm) Number (sets)(g)/667 m2/667 m2)
Deep-buried drip irrigation 116006.51.1708.15.0147.1
Conventional furrow irrigation 115005.30.99656.94.8113.833.3
As can be seen from the above table, compared with 667 square meters of conventional furrow irrigation cotton, deep-buried drip irrigation increased lint yield by 33.3 kg, increasing yield by 29.3%, and lint unit price by 10 yuan/kg.(Average market price in recent 5 years), the net increase in output value of main products is 333 yuan/667 square meters; by-products (cottonseed) increase by 50 kg, calculated at 1.2 yuan/kg, the net increase in output value is 60 yuan/667 square meters; the total increase in output value of main by-products is 393 yuan/667 square meters. In addition to the new cost of 118.2 yuan/667 square meters (including equipment cost of 110 yuan per 667 square meters, new picking cost of 56.2 yuan/667 square meters, saving irrigation labor 2 ×20 yuan =40 yuan/667 square meters, saving manual weeding once, 8 yuan/667 square meters), the profit of 667 square meters increased by 274.8 yuan compared with ditch irrigation, with remarkable economic benefits.

Attention should be paid to the management of cotton bud stage
At present, most of the cotton in our province has entered the bud stage. in view of the current situation of high temperature and heat, drought and little rain in most areas, the following management technical suggestions are put forward for the majority of cotton farmers' reference. First, watering and fertilizing. It is necessary to properly water and apply a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer to promote seedlings. For the cotton fields with poor soil fertility, insufficient or less base fertilizer and weak cotton growth, the combination of watering can top up 5 kg of urea per mu. Can also increase the application of phosphate fertilizer, potash fertilizer, general mu application of diammonium, potassium sulfate or potassium chloride each 5 kg. Second, active chemical control. Active chemical control by spraying propofol before watering

Cultivation and Management techniques of Cotton hose drip Irrigation
With the increase of crop area, the shortage of water resources and the increase of cotton cost in Jimusar County, the comparative benefit of cotton decreased year by year. For this reason, we introduce and popularize the cotton under plastic film atmospheric pressure (hose) drip irrigation cultivation technology. 1. Main indicators 1. The output is 667 square meters, 100-130 kg lint. Yield components: the number of harvested plants per square meter is 1.3-15000, the number of bolls per plant is 5-6, the weight of single boll is 5 grams, and the lint percentage is 33%. 35%. two。 Fertilizer and water
