Fourth, cultivate the soil through ploughing. Middle ploughing, especially deep and middle ploughing, plays an important role in controlling the overgrowth of cotton plants, promoting the rooting of cotton roots and the stable growth of strong trees. However, it should be classified, and deep ploughing should be carried out after general rainfall or irrigation, as well as when cotton plants are growing vigorously. For dryland cotton fields, it is mainly shallow hoeing to kill grass and preserve soil moisture, and there is no need for deep ploughing. We should grasp the principle of keeping the field soil loose and free of weeds, and at the same time do a good job of soil cultivation in combination with mid-tillage.
Fifth, scientific pruning. For the pruning cotton field, it is necessary to remove leaf branches and superfluous buds in time, and the leaf branches should be no more than one inch, which should be early rather than late, so as to reduce nutrient consumption, effectively regulate the distribution of nutrients to fruit branches, improve field light, and control the crazy growth of cotton plants.
Sixth, prevent diseases and insects. According to the forecast of local diseases and insect pests, we should pay close attention to the control of cotton aphids, cotton leaf mites, Bemisia Tabaci, cotton thrips and bug bugs. The prevention and control of cotton wilt should be based on the principle of "prevention first". Measures such as cultivating strong seedlings, maintaining good ventilation and light transmission and increasing the application of potassium fertilizer should be taken to improve the disease resistance of cotton plants; if the disease occurs, fungicides and nutrients should be sprayed in time to prevent further spread.
