The annual demand for plant gum in China is more than 40, 000 tons, but the annual output of our country is less than 3000 tons, which is far from meeting the demand of the market. Besides using related substances that consume a lot of grain production as substitutes, it also costs 400 million yuan to import guar gum from abroad every year. The gum isolated from Gleditsia seeds by Chinese scientists has similar colloidal properties to imported guar gum, and the gum content of Gleditsia seeds is as high as 30% Mel 40%, which is much higher than that of herbaceous plants.
