Treatment of rectal exfoliation in donkeys
The prolapse of the rectum of the donkey is commonly known as prolapse of the anus, which is a common disease in equine animals. in the northern region, it is easy to occur under poor conditions of house feeding and rearing. Typical cases are reported as follows:
Symptoms of the disease
On September 5, 2005, two of the 9 Xinjiang Yue donkeys raised by Li in Naimen Mudun Township had prolapse of the anus. The sick donkeys showed frequent remorse, accompanied by moaning and grinding of teeth, front limb planing, hindlimb kicking in the abdomen, extremely irritable, restless standing, walking back and forth, frequent tail lifting, intestinal tube prolapse outside the anus, cylindrical swinging from left to right, severe edema, bright red at the base of the anus, dark red in the lower part of the prolapse. There are faeces and bedding grass on the surface. Rectal prolapse was diagnosed according to clinical symptoms.
Baoding and Anesthesia
Fix the sick animals in the six-column column, tie up the hindlimb and abdominal belt, prevent kicking, disinfect around the anus, and inject procaine into local anesthesia.
III. Restoration
First use warm water to wash the intestines and around the anus to remove fecal mat grass and other filth. Then rinse with 0.1% potassium permanganate aqueous solution, acupuncture annular edema with sterilized needles, remove edema fluid, and explore the rectum with long arm gloves on the left hand. It was found that both donkeys were cecal and rectal constipation leading to tonic rectum, resulting in rectal prolapse. In the process of restoration, 200ml of clear oil was injected into the rectum to lubricate the intestinal wall and 5000 ml of warm water was injected into the rectum to dissolve cecal and rectal faeces, discharge feces and avoid ankylosis. The left and right hands cooperate to bring the protruded intestines into the anus, then stretch and smooth the intestines with the left arm to ensure complete access to the pelvis and abdominal cavity, and then plug a number of column popsicles in the anus, the principle is: when the anus is stimulated by colder stimulation, the circular sphincter of the anus contracts, which improves the tension of the circular sphincter and does not blame valgus, so as to achieve the purpose of treatment. After the ice dissolves into water, it has a softening effect on cecal and rectal feces, thus achieving a "smooth, smooth and excretory" effect.
After restoration, the diseased animals were forced to walk, avoid lying and rolling, fasting for 1 day, adequate drinking water, digestible feed after operation, not too full, return visit every few days, and the two donkeys all recovered.
IV. Summary after operation
The donkeys raised by Li were raised in the house all the year round, mainly fed with corn straw. Insufficient drinking water, too small enclosure in the playground and lack of feed nutrition were the main causes of the disease. By improving the structure of forage feed and comprehensively improving the level of management, the occurrence of this disease can be prevented.
